I hope you’re wrong too. What you’re saying is horrifying beyond words.

I’m going to have to pass on the link. I don’t do the Times. But thanks.

No worries. I guess I’m just looking at how this thing is trending. It’s kind of akin to when the Titanic first hit the iceberg and the band played on and the staff served drinks so people wouldn’t panic.

Tokyo is being reported as a virtual ghost town today and foreign governments are urging their citizens to bug out as fast as they can.

If, right now, this is mere panic one advantage is that if an evacuation of Tokyo is eventually needed then the more people who leave ahead of time means fewer people to clog things up later on if/when the poop hits the fan.

I guess I am thinking that a little ‘panic’ right now might save some lives later on. Worse thing that can happen from people getting out of Tokyo for a while is a massive inconvenience. If I lived there I know I’d be on the road right now.

The weather forecast has changed in the past 24 hours. It *may* be propaganda because both Fox and CNN said otherwise last night. We’ll see...

This says the winds won’t blow towards Tokyo until next week Tuesday & Wednesday.

Yeah, I’d be high-tailing it too. As fast and as far as possible.

Unfortunately, inbound flights to Tokyo are thinning out. Gasoline is scarce. Trains aren’t running at full capacity. Exit options are getting more limited by the hour.

Keep praying. That’s all we can do.

Reminds me of the Jews who left Europe right after Kristelnacht. They saw the writing on the wall. Families like Anne Frank’s folks, who decided to tough it out, perished in the end.

Weather forecasting is never an exact science.
