DOJ stats. Will see if I can dig out later in the week.
Here ya go:
http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/pub/pdf/VIOCRM.PDF
Violent victimization rates:
Females 25/1000
Males 40/1000
DOJ has more recent stuff but I need to get some sleep right now. I know I saw stats a few years ago that were current then, and males had higher rates than females.
The most bogus figure you hear is the one in four women will be raped in their lifetime. Complete hogwash.
Thanks for the link.
What I read from this report is that the 40/1000 is *all* violent crime against men, not violence committed by women against men. And the 25/1000 is again, all violence committed against women by either sex.
But, I also read elsewhere that the numbers for domestic violence are estimated to be roughly the same for both sexes, but men report it much less. So how they know it’s happening is beyond me.
The guru on this subject is Martin Fiebart at Univ of California Long Beach (psychology dept). Here's his compilation of studies on the question of domestic violence (as opposed to all violence). Completely different picture from the NOW dogma.
