Ron Paul is a bump in the road for whichever Republican candidate goes on to win the nomination.

Because he’s an isolationist, and ostriches get kicked in the behind.
Especially now. If we don’t get involved, others will. And we won’t care for the results.
But lately it seems like everybody’s a Paulite. Me, I don’t want us to become France.
Leftist peaceniks and Paulites are on the same page, and those of us who stand with them are soon going to have a heap of Crow a la Chamberlain to choke down.
Whatever and wherever it is, Paul wants us to stay out of it until it gets worse. Two world wars notwithstanding.

I don’t know. After seeing what Bush did to the budget and debt, Ron Paul sounds pretty good.

Ron Paul is one of the least hypocritical politician out there. Before you all start foaming out the mouth, understand that Paul's beliefs are rooted in a very simple theory:
Small Government + More States Rights
A quick primer to some of the points brought up and his reasoning behind it
How can you reduce government size when no one on both sides refuses to touch military spending which by far the largest line item in the budget?
We are fighting two wars we cannot afford, so why are we fighting them? 9/11 happened not because of some overblown rhetoric about Muslims hating our SUV driving, McDonald's eating lifestyles; it happened because of our consistent foreign occupation in countries we dont even belong in. Dont believe me? Read
this book which contains the most indepth study of suicide terroism ever done.
Abortion, drugs, gay marriage? The Federal government should not have a say in what people can or cannot do, its best to leave it to the states.
Paul will never gain enough support here because the CORPORATIONS who bankroll all political activities know they will have no sway over him. He's a stubborn old man.
I know some of you are ready to start smashing the keyboard in response right now to this N00B. Just to be clear, I dont support Ron Paul, he's too extreme and too idealistic in my view. Im just offering a counterpoint to some of the posts in this thread. Isnt America grand?

Anyonw who is a Paul booster and reads this far, go back and read the whole article. Then tell me why I should vote for a guy who thinks the CIA secretly runs America. That’s something one would normally see in a poorly xeroxed pamphlet being passed out on a street corner by a Marxist.
