I hope your optimism turns out to be justified.
When will Governor Walker start the layoffs he's been promising? Is it still tomorrow (Tuesday)?
To: sassy steel magnolia
You are missing the fact that it's Monday morning and the Governor outlasted the demonstrators.
The place was down to 12 unemployed "make shift drummers". I think that says it all!
So you want to beat up those guys? Be my guest, but you're going to get decontaminated as well just for touching them!
And your clothes will be burned.

[Any wonder that they cling to UNIONS?. . .Who else would hire them?]
Hobos, winos, junkies, dysfunctual street people, the chronically unemployed. The unions hire these people from temporary labor agencies, ACORN, Working Families Party (Soros funded), to fill out their ranks at protests. I used to work for temporary agencies on weekends when I needed extra money. I think I recognized some of my old colleagues in news footage.

That sort of thing can be very distracting. We had a minister in the area whose son was schizophrenic. He'd just gotten out of prison and went to a hotel where I was holding a conference for 300 people and decided he'd like to burn it down that evening.
Turned out I was one of the witnesses who identified his presence there.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, should know about this little news item. It puts the actions of Tubbs in good perspective. Like father, like sons; no respect for law and order.

There was a FReeper who used to manage a "post of the week" thread. People could ping him to posts they wanted to nominate, and he would collect them all on one thread. I miss it. Oh, and I agree with you, "7/4 is a fraction" would get my vote.

I didn’t say beat ‘em up: I said pull the fire alarm, and evacuate the statehouse. Then, if they want to remain outside, make em get a permit, etc. No beatings required...

So the 200 overnight squatters, minus 12 singing holdouts, willingly left the Capitol this morning? That seems odd, unless internal polling showed WI citizens are overwhelmingly sick of them.

“Did he (obama) REALLY say that?”
OBAMA LIES. obama will tell you that the knife in your chest, the rope around your neck, the bullet in your head does not hurt. This socialist/marxist/fascist/revolutionary/muslim sympathizer faux president LIES. That's what leftists do. They will tell you day is night, and night is day, in the hopes that some fool will believe them. They must be taken down.

WW re: politicians, political suicide
He’ kidding right? It’s reasonable to expect it, not reasonable to think they have the couage. Of course they have to commit pol suicide, it’s not about them. If there’s no money, there’s no money.
Who cuts defense in two wars with the ME ummah forming and more ME players wanting nukes?
Since the enemy lives on the hill, it’s a moot point.

He’s hitting the point. The Reds hijacked churches with social justice. Wordplay. Charity isn’t forced.
Churches always helped the sick and needy.
If people knew the skinny on banks making it hard as hell to loan to churches, it would be scandal.
The problem lies in ‘church members not tithing, volunteering and becoming of the world instead of in it. It will be interesting as well, to see what happens in DC re: vouchers and the teacher chops to come.
I know the church schools pay less but produce smarter kids for less.

By Wisconsin Law, after 30 days Walker can declare their seats vacant
They can’t stay out quite that long unless he allows it.

Thanks, I had been hearing talk about declaring the seats vacant, but I hadn't seen the number. So that gives us a hard stop date. All Walker has to do his keep the Dem's dancing for another three weeks and this is over. Since the impact of the Dem's walkout / union protest is suffering diminishing returns he can certainly keep it up for that long.
The big thing is that he only needs one dem, not all of them. I'm sure that there are some so deeply into the union's pockets that they would throw away their political careers to make a point. But the Dems need to maintain 100% solidarity for this to work. But after 29 days when it becomes obvious that they are going to lose eventually somebody is going to cross the picket line. Not all, not most, but one. Think of it as the Democrat equivalent of John McCain.
