All of those functions can be taken over by private organizations. I'm all for smaller government at ALL levels.

Let’s see the GOP Congress follow suit and ax funding for NPR, PBS, the National Council for the Arts, etc, etc. If people want to support these frills, they certainly can open their checkbooks and keep them afloat. We can no longer afford the frills in city, county, state and federal govern-ments when we can’t afford the necessities, such as power stations, roads and bridges.

Well, I had planned on getting my R.P.L.S. license.

On the whole, I wonder if it doesn’t make more sense to keep these boards separate, rather than fold them into a gigantic bureaucratic organization. Much easier to keep track of how well they’re doing if they each do their own things.
If cuts are wanted, why not just trim back the size of these boards, or trim back the compensation and the permanent staff?

Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
The Texas Board is the agency that approves or dissapproves new licenses in the State.
Not sure what this means now.

Texas is facing a budget shortfall of at least $15 billion. Republican leaders from Perry on down are vowing not to raise any new taxes to make up the shortfall. Like the draft budgets already released in the House and Senate, Perry will propose billions of dollars in cuts that would make dramatic reductions touching every corner of the state budget.
Fantastic...This only means the Texas government will have to eliminate thousands of government employees!
Ping me when that actually happens.

The Texas Historical (Hysterical) Commission is a joke anyway. Any building listed as historical cannot be repaired, unless you find the original material.

Hey Gov., seeing as two more Americans have been killed on the border in the last day or so, how’z bout we get a lil border security outta ya.
While your at it, cut funding to sanctuary cities and tax the crap outta monetary wire transfers from illegals to Mexico.
Oh wait, that wouldn't mess with your 2012 presidential aspirations would it?
I dunno, I mean, just sayin.
Perry gets around.

For what it's worth, I believe Rick Perry and Sarah Palin are going to team up for 2012.
Rick will wear his Conservative hat from now till the primaries to gain TEA Party support.
With Texas having the best ecomony during these tough Obamanomics,he'll be a strong candidate.
Sarah will have a tough time in the Primaries and Rick will tap her as VP.
