I’ve been reading histories of the great depression. The only good news is Obama is a piker compared to FDR when it comes to thuggery. FDR threw many of his opponents into jail on a variety of trumped-up charges and brought the full weight of the IRS against many of them. I had no idea how much of a tyrant he was. One public poll around 1936 or 1938 found 42% of Americans thought he was a dictator.
