"The main stumbling block is Israel. In reality, Israel has as much to gain from the spread of democracy in the Middle East as the United States has. But Israel is unlikely to recognize its own best interests because the change is too sudden and carries too many risks. And some U.S. supporters of Israel are more rigid and ideological than Israelis themselves. Fortunately, Obama is not beholden to the religious right, which has carried on a veritable vendetta against him. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is no longer monolithic or the sole representative of the Jewish community. The main danger is that the Obama administration will not adjust its policies quickly enough to the suddenly changed reality."

Had to quote that. Soros's organization's helped foment this revolution. He is now calling for hte Muslim Brotherhood to be part of the new Egypt. He calls Israel and Jews a stumbling block to democracy.

Can Israel please issue a warrant and charge Arrow Cross Soros for his war crimes before he starts World War 3?

if President Obama stands firmly by the values that got him elected.

That is one of the most hilarious expressions of naivete I've ever read.

What a bitter and mean old man. How is Israel the main stubling block here? Of course Israel wants stability, it wants peace. But Israel cannot stop anything from happening inside Egypt. There are more people protesting in the Egyptian Square than live in all of Tel Aviv!

The problem is that Egypt is spinning rapidly out of control. There is really only 2 possible outcomes now - crowds subside and Mubarak is pressured to prepare for free and fair elections in September, or, the Army takes over, smashes the protests and does the same.

(Of course, the army or Mubarak could decide not to hold elections but I think that would be too much to bear for either). Why Soros thinks the Egyptian people would want the Muslim Brotherhood to lead them is beyond me. In my limited experience, the Egyptian people are not going to fall for Islamic rule. However, no matter which course is taken, it will take time to get elections started. Parties need to form, ballots made, campaigning etc. And given the time to set up parties and campaign, the people will get a real choice to decide the fate of the country. The mob - and Obama - are wrong to insist on immediate action because that simply means military rule, the opposite of what they claim to desire, or they will end up with a coalition including Islamists without a vote ever taking place. El Baradei is NOT and should not be guaranteed the leadership no matter what at this stage. He needs to form a party and campaign and that same right needs to be extended to all. That takes some time in a country that has had 30 years of one party rule.

This is just an Israel hater doing what he does best - blaming Israel for things out of Israel’s control.

What is ‘right’ for Soro/Obama per Egypt is WRONG for the Free World. Interesting, to see GS come out into the ‘light’ and more as of late. Like a rat in daylight. . .
