Well, I am a republican, but not a Palin fan, agnostic, I understand evolution and embrace science, logic and reason, I don't hate gay people and really don't care if someone has an abortion. Which means that I'd be condemned to hell at the other place. No thanks.

And he/she/it was one nasty S.O.B./D.O.B. in his FReepmails to my g/daughter (Not the reason she doesn’t post any more though, nor the reason he was zotted.)

Maybe folks are getting tired of having their conservative values called into question because they happen to disagree with certain members of the FR posse from time to time.

Could be, but the more I read, the more people were relaxing and the more moderate to liberal the site was looking. Almost a libertarian flair. I think I even saw a post where someone tried to make the point that libertarians were the true conservatives.

I am not “a big tent” person either. However, I do believe in a good debate, and some here have expressed that if they dont agree with certain persons, they have problems here.

I feel as long as you are respectful and dont name call, I see no problems with different opinons on certain subjects.

I mean are some people here so rigid, that they dont hear what others have to say? You dont have to agree, but their opinons are just as valid as yours or mine.

Thats what I have always loved about FR. Now sometimes I hesitate on my posts because I am afraid I’ll get the Zot.

I wasn't trying anything except to point out that you DON'T know who the backstabber is and you're trying to vouch for them. HONORABLE people are allowed to announce on FR that they have set up their own forum. Yes, there are Freepers that have forums. HONORABLE people don't send nasty freepmails trying to lure away posters while calling Jim a petty tyrant.

Just wow. One of the things I admire most about you, Jim, is that you're obviously NOT a control freak. You're the opposite of a tyrant! Yeeeeesh. You've allowed free exchange of ideas on FR, and that's why it's thrived. There've been times I've gone against the grain in my opinions on FR, yet thank goodness, I'm still here. Part of what makes FR so valuable is that we have a chance to see how others think. I've learned more about conservatives and Republicans via FR than I ever learned anywhere else. THANK YOU, Jim.
