I don’t think they are self haters. Guilt and angst maybe ala Woody Allen but the many I know actually like themselves quite well actually...what they really hate is social conservatism which they often associate with Christian values imposition..or worse...

The far left does hate Israel though..no question....but not for being Jewish but rather for being the Winner and seen as first world lording over a poor third world peoples..all BS of course

Can someone enlighten me whether the DailyKos owner can be arrested for destroying evidence in the Giffords shooting case if it turns out that BoyBlue is indeed the shooter? It is clear now that the shooter loved the Communist Manifeso and is an ardent leftist. Also, Giffords is Jewish and we know the anti-Semitism that pervades liberals. Remember Helen Thomas? So all this clearly proves that liberalism is the reason for the shooting. If BoyBlue is indeed the shooter, then DailyKos is clearly guilty of abetting a crime by destroying evidence about the person's true motives.

Agreed. My point was that the 'author' of the thread did not label it a VANITY. The brief comments the 'author' made as a THREAD could easily have been placed as a normal COMMENT to any of the dozens of threads on this subject.

Understood - in this case it is the sarcasm in your post that was probably the part that I disagree with using.

We all knew it was a vanity post. Your telling us so was extraneous. Hence the reason for telling us was to attempt to ridicule the author’s use of vanity.

Yes. Vanity threads are discouraged, as a general rule.

In this case, no. There have been many vanity threads in the past that ended up being productive. I still made comments on those threads mentioning that they were VANITIES and discouraged as a general principle. This one seems to have also been productive.

Sometimes, a person 'feels' that their 'opinion' deserves the limelight of having it's own THREAD.

I disagree however with the sarcasm. A simple statement like yours above - Please put "Vanity" in the title of all vanity posts - would have been well received imo and is even FR public policy. Have a great day.
