I am a native Californian, and grew up there in the 50’s into the 80’s. It is indeed a beautiful state, but it would take a revolution and a ton of money to get me to move back.

One of the killers of our state was assemblyman Houston “Hugh” Flournoy (R-Pomona), who in 1966 pushed through a law giving us a full-time legislature. He always boasted of this accomplishment, but it was probably the worst thing that could have happened to our state.

By the way, Flournoy wasn’t a native Californian, but a New Yorker and an Ivy Leaguer who moved to the Wine State in 1957 to become a college professor.

They’re mostly in Sacramento and have been there for eons.

There are also quite a few in Washington who were elected by the idiots who vote in Californicate.

I came to California eons ago from Ohio.I raised a family ,have a decent career and I’m looking forward to retirement, but where? This state has gone down the stink hole,by people who have continued to vote in the most corrupt and down right goofy legislators and are happy about it! Jerry Brown will be a one termer, then, the next Gov. will be Gavin Newsome.I want to cry!A co-worker told me the other day, about a progressive /lefty worker in the office who votes all this crap in and announced:”well,I’ve been thinking,I’ll probably have to leave Calif to go live in another state, the taxes are too high here. This same person had announced a few months ago ,that she doesn’t mind paying higher taxes.
Liberalism is not just a mental disorder ,it is insanity!

Again I say...name, names...I want names in the CAL State’s Historical Record who did this. CA vastly helped this nation win both WW I and II and we owe it to it to find out who did this.

No doubt by raising property taxes sufficiently to give back (to the teachers) the monetary sacrifices they have had to endure.

"Don't expect the voters to elect better representatives as they are even less informed about governmental matters than those in office."

Those residents who pay no tax and those who receive some form of government 'assistance' are informed that the Dems will look after them whether it can be afforded or not - the eventual bill is always down the road. These groups will always vote for the Dems and keep receiving the largesse from the public purse.

Well, we can start with Brown junior, who signed into law the right for public employees to collective bargain.

From there, you can simply look up dem assembly and senate members through to the present, and copy and paste that list to yours, and it will be mostly complete. For special mention, you can place the speakers of the house and senate pro tems on the top of the list.

People like Garamendi, Willie the B, Steinberg, Villa , penata, Roberti, van de camp should also have extra stars next to their names.

The top of the list would be the brain washed, dumb as a box of rocks, too stupid to actually think things through average voter, who tunes in to the local channels and reads the times/bee the night before the elections for the inside scoop on who to vote for.

It will take a herculean effort to clean out the rat's nest under the dome, either with tar, feathers and rails, or voter education, which itself would be a near impossible feat.

“Look on the bright side.Californians can still destroy Colorado!”

They are well into destroying Oregon, and they’ve started on Idaho and Montana.

Hey! Don't forget Washington State!

Excuse me, but you seem to be clueless.

California is in trouble not because the government dependents are leaving the state! Its because the people PAYING THE TAXES are leaving the state. Anyone who is paying attention will see that the states surrounding California are becoming richer and MORE CONSERVATIVE as California becomes more liberal and further in debt.

People are leaving the state with a pile of wealth set aside over a life time. These are the people who voted for Ronald Reagan as governor.

Intuitively, you would think that, but my experience with people fleeing high tax states from New York, New England is that the come down south and bring their Commie voting habits with them. Why would the refuse form CA be any different? I hope you are correct.

Some decent conservatives come but at to high a cost.

Hehe......... There’s just no place in the middle that’s “cool” enough to move to except Colorado. Or else they have to go ALL the way to Florida, the other “Coolest” state in the union.

Great observations and comments.

It makes honest Americans want to puke when they think of all these sewer rats in Washington, as well as in state capitols, who sit around all day conjuring up ways to make our lives miserable!

They redesign our light bulbs which are then manufactured in China and contain mercury vapor, then they redesign our motor fuels. Diesel is now higher than premium gas because the gas bags in DC decided that the sulphur content in that basic fuel must be zero. Diesel powered trucks haul our groceries to the store and the higher prices reflect the evil that originates in Washington.

We can’t drill for oil, mine coal, chop down trees, or plant in the Imperial Valley in California because of a useless little fish.

All the three-letter agencies are now enacting legislation designed to further enslave us and nothing happens!

It has now been proven that this fake democracy doesn’t work. Our courts don’t work so it looks like it’s time to toss the whole mess into the Potomac River!
