You know what I would like? If in order to filibuster, you had to pull a Jimmy Stewart and REALLY talk for hours without a break. I’ve never liked the fact that you could filibuster just by threatening to.
Remember that we WILL take the Senate again, and when we do, you know the Dims won’t be able to filibuster for real. Whereas we’ve got the gumption to keep it going, just like Jimmy in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
Heck, 20-30 RINOS will vote with the Dems.
Only one reply here got it right as to WHY this is being proposed: The DRAM act passage. It already passed the House - it only needs to pass the Senate. The Democrats NEED an amnesty bill in order to stop inevitable losses looming in 2012. The only way they can do it is new illegal voters. This whole exercise is to create new Democrat voters. That’s what all of this is about. It’s all about passing the DREAM Act in the Senate - every Democrat’s future employment depends on it. That’s why the House took it up in the Lame Duck Session.
Here is the question for any members here who know about such things: is there any way for them to be stopped from changing the Filibuster Rule?
Now that we control the house they cant do alot of damage and since we will take the Sente in 2012 that will helpus big time. We can jam our entire programs down their stinking gulletts.
