I cannot believe the level of whacko-ness that this has generated.
Whats new?No one believes/trust the “us” government anymore.

At first I thought everyone was over-reacting about aircraft contrails, but after looking at the video and after reading a USAF (ret.) LGEN state categorically that it was NOT an aircraft, but was indeed a missile, I am really starting to wonder.
On the Chinese connection, I’d like to throw something out that I haven’t seen considered elsewhere, that is, whether it was indeed a Chinese military operation, but one that did not have the full support of the Chinese government.
What I am trying to stress is that we are used to top-down civilian control of the military through our Constitution and more than 200 years of tradition, so we automatically assume the Hu Jintao has the same level of control over China’s military. I don’t think that is the case.
The Peoples Liberation Army is a power center in its own right, as is the Chinese Communist Party. I guess that the industrialists and money-makers make up a third power block, and naturally there is a lot of mixing within those groups.
That being the case, I am wondering if this was a shot across the bow of the Chinese government by members of the Chinese military for purposes that have nothing to do with Obama and have everything to do with how power is shared within China itself.

Not to make an argument out of the issue - To me, it appears to be clearly a vehicle using a propulsion system different than a typical jetliner. Plus, the flight path, even when corrected for perspective, is very vertical and parabolic. I am not too familiar with jet-powered vehicles taking such a flight path. At the base of the trail of smoke there appears to be a heavier volume of particles left behind as the vehicle accelerated from a slower velocity.
The video appears to show to my eye and reason a rocket or missile launched off of the coast. Who did it and why remains a mystery.
I’m a private pilot tha that has flown SoCal off and on since the mid eighties.
I have seen all the elements that mad up this illusion PERSONALLY.
given that and the overwhelming evidence present very well here it is beyond obvious.....
Rejecting that.. you must accept a massive coverup involving dozens of agencys and thousands of people acting withint minutes and hours coordinating perfectly to perform the “cover up”.

After reading a couple of post from people here on FR who live on the California Coast who said they have witnessed coastal contrails just like this, I’m satisfied that that is just what it was. I’ll take their word for it.
Glenn Beck is an f’ing idiot - that much is clear. And when you’re an idiot, you’re not an idiot just part of the time, you’re an idiot ALL of the time. Those of you who agree with me will continue to do so, and those that do not will call me names. No matter, Glenn Beck is still an idiot whose only talent is stealing money from other idiots.
In order to be taken seriously as an inteligent observer of American life and politics, Mr Beck already has a large hurdle to overcome due to his Mormon faith. In the face of that and since he seems to regularly promote rather outlandish ideas and conspiracy theories with a manner that is provocative and impulsive, I conclude one of two things. His ‘conservativism’ is mostly just a vehicle to continue making millions of dollars. He is the epitome of a self fulfilling prophsey destined to self destruct.
Or perhaps both.

Glenn Beck is an uneducated sideshow entertainer. He doesn’t have the mental capacity to make a decision on this.
Besides, backing a wacky story is a great way to get ratings.
