I was hearted when I heard her say it. And, I must say, John Leland 1789, I couldn’t agree with you more. Fine observation! May many others, especially those who sit in the pews and support so much of the nonsense coming from preachers today wake up and, as the Greek proselytes once asked of Philip, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus,” demand of their pastor, “Sir, we wish to hear Jesus.” Or better yet, “Sir, we would hear Jesus, or you will no longer see our offerings.”
Is that all?!!

Can you imagine Obama saying this? He, of course, won’t say this, but this is what he believes: “what we need is more Islam and less Christianity.”

I can only add that motives you describe are most likely only the surface motives we see and the true problem lies even deeper.
