America! It's about
bump
The Pollyanna in me thinks this constitutional crisis can be solved by people of good will acting by peaceful legal means, -
HOWEVER!
The Cassandra in me sees a modern version of the events of late 1860 and early 1861 being replayed with civil war very likely in the spring of 2011.
The dogs of war...or....The doves of peace?
>This might be the last chance to avoid the civil war the left so disparately wants to start, to consolidate their “power” over us.
Well, the outcome wouldn’t be exactly that. - King George probably thought the same way... and the left would shatter like glass.
I rode a busses to Washington DC on 9/12, again for the healthcare vote, and then again for the Glenn Beck rally. I spent time and money-both of which I have little these days. Unfortunately, I too feel it produced nothing but warm fuzzy feelings for us.
If I went again, it would need to be for something quite different. Some type of civil disobedience.
“If we fail at this, there will only be one outcome: civil war.”
We got a few more trick to try, tricks which must be implemented before it will even be possible to move on to more forceful means.
Frankly i don’t think Civil War will ever be necessary, as there are smarter ways to go about achieving a peaceful secession. Namely make the other side want to see you go.(That can be as easy as using the common tool to drive them crazy or more specially their radicals to desire such a separation, and the moderates to desire it to go peaceful rather then endure the horrific cost of bloodshed.)
It should be easy as there is no driving issue like slavery which morally motivates one side to fight to impose something on the other.
Regardless of how this plays out, it will not end with us. My children and grandchildren will carry on long after I’m gone.
