I’m worried. Cooley’s lead has dropped to under 12k.
He still has a good cushion
I met Steve Cooley at a Steve Soboroff fundraiser on Wilshire Blvd in 2001. They had all of the leading Republicans in the city at this breakfast/fundraiser.Nice man but he is tough as nails as a DA. He really helped in cutting the crime in the city.
Yep. I’m aware he’s tough, and L.A. needed (still does) ‘tough.’
It’s not in my comfort zone.
Does anybody know what areas they still have uncounted ballots from?
Answering my own question:
Looking at the counties with the most uncounted ballots and knowing what we know about the electorate geographically, it doesn’t look good. The one gleam of hope is that L.A. Co. is Cooley’s county and there over 200k uncounted ballots there. Normally that would be a bad thing for a pub, but L.A. Co. has elected Cooley D.A. for a good, long time, so maybe those votes will squeak his way.
But overall, I’m not real optimistic. There are a whole lot more uncounted ballots from lefty areas than there are from the red areas.
Repubs should immediately file suit to STOP THE COUNT.
In Bush/Gore, the USSC saw the Dem trick of counting and counting and counting til they get the numbers they need to win.....and summarily stopped the illegal FLA count.
One Bush/Gore post-election account observed that the Bush team legally outmaneuvered Gore's people at every step------thanks to the legal brilliance of then Bush Secy of State James Baker, now a Texas lawyer.
Cooley lead back up some, currently showing at 19,300.
