I agree. Thanks for the reply. Many people have simply washed over the releases and made their own conspiracy theories. It confirms that NORAD had no detection. Colonel Lapin from the Pentagon has already stated no DOD involvement so that also makes the NOTAM theory void.
No problem. I agree. I feel sorry for all those watching Shepard Smith reporting the story on Fox News. It was embarrassing to watch.
If anything it will make these types of contrails be reported more often. Of course to many it will just be those pesky Chicoms up to their old tricks again!

Joe Biden—always the conundrum—someone earlier in the thread said where he is currently, but I don’t remember. What’s to become of Biden when Obama relocates? I suspect he’ll get ushered along, too, on some reasonable bit of fact. I can’t even begin to speculate. The Progressive brain is far too evil for me to get inside of!!! :) I just offered up my thoughts based on bits and pieces getting “tossed” out by the media. They are, after all, the “agenda train” for the far left. They make sure everybody gets on board and heads in the right direction!
See post 933 from D-fendr. The hesitation I would suggest is due to the fact that nothing of defense significance has been detected nor was it anything to do with a US launch.
All there is is a video that looks like a ballistic launch. The video simply remains as a puzzle to the military. I would suggest that they are trying to piece it together with Air Traffic Control data in order to provide a final statement. Of course many are not going to like the final statement from the Pentagon!

You need to provide a source. Where is the military claiming that it was a confirmed ballistic missile launch?

My research shows it as AWE808, or UPS902, their altitude (for contrail formation) and position are both pretty close, though I believe 808 is the stronger candidate. I base this one the way AWE808 appeared on the horizon TODAY (Tuesday, Nov. 9) on its same flight path at approximately the same time. I made a screen cap of a Newport Beach webcam with AWE808 making a very familiar contrail to the west.’

I saw something very similar over Lake Michigan the other night under similar circumstances...i.e. near sunset. There was a contrail that appeared to be almost vertical....following it up it was obvious that it was a jet moving very quickly, but very high. If I had seen it at it’s apogee it’s contrail would have looked like a missile launch.
Only you know if they are lying, assuming you have any direct knowledge at all. I do not believe federal agencies always tell the truth, nor that they are legally able to always tell the truth on certain topics. I do not regard the public comment of an agency regarding national security as an automatic fast-pass to their innermost secrets which they will surely share immediately in realtime with us. I am puzzled at your insistence on this topic.
The simplest conclusion is that 1) you are a fanatic in arguing for trust of the federal government’s every word, as some sort of gospel or 2) you have an ulterior motive (presumably economic) for arguing for believing every word fedgov ever utters on this particular topic.
My general rule on this sort of thing is follow the money.
If I am totally off base, it is probably from seeing too many dedicated agitators on DU who are spending too much time to have other professions that produce income.
