Sounds like he thinks those two things are mutually exclusive. Defeating him IS moving the country forward.

He haven’t figured out that elections is about defeating their opposition, which stand in the way of their agendas. You can’t defeat agenda unless you defeat/convert a person who hold the wrong agenda
