It's not obamacare, that is a symptom of the problem, closer to the root of the problem is government spending, the reason for unsustainable spending is either deliberate corruption, or the inability to think rationally. Either way if unsustainable government spending doesn’t change, and change soon, the American Dream is over.

The Democrats were willing to throw away their majority to achieve their ideological goals. Theyve put in place the means to get to a single payer system. Theyre drawing the opposite lesson from this from what every one else is drawing. The political blood-letting is worth it. Obamacare cant be repealed. And theyre willing to bet that they can revive it the next time theyre back in power. The heavy lifting has already been done. BINGO!
I was watching Rachel Maddow last night and she basically said that the Dems were willing to pay the short-term price for the long-term goal.
