I don't care. She's still more ethical than most members of Congress.
That's really up to her opponents in the GOP primary. This is how it works. In 2008 she had zero chance to win and probably no one much cared. Did Biden even run an ad against her? Why bother? She was the sacrificial lamb.
It really is up to individual campaigns in primaries and generals to do the opposition research stuff. Castle began doing it when he felt he had to. Anyone with power that supports Castle is doing the same to help him out. This is how primaries work, this is a good thing.
This woman will not win a general election for the Senate seat in November. It just isn't going to happen. If she were a great conservative candidate without all the skeletons flopping out of her closet, I might consider standing with her on principle. Instead, we find she was busy filing gender discrimination suits against conservative groups. This does not sound like a conservative person to me - it sounds like an opportunist.
In a primary you have to consider multiple factors, one of them is - can this candidate win? It isn't just about voting for the most conservative, you have to consider charisma, likability, honestly, polls, etc. Sure, give a ton of weight to the most conservative candidate - but stuff like this lawsuit seriously detract from her value as a candidate.
I appreciate your position, and have not turned against it yet.
Sure, we might not take the senate in 2010. But I’m not sure what difference that will make. We have a great shot in 2012, as multiple republican-leaning seats come up for election. Castle may not be worth it.
But I am tired of conservatives arguing against facts about their pet conservative candidates, which can only hurt the brand.
It’s one thing for a conservative to back Castle while admitting he’s a RINO. It’s another thing for a conservative to pretend that facts don’t matter, and pretend that there’s nothing wrong with a candidate simply because that candidate says the right things.
“Ja wohl, mein Führer!”
Your insinuation is uncalled for.
and hiding in the bushes.
What’s the difference?
“Utopian designs for masculinizing women, marginalizing men and vaporizing family homes are far more than literary fantasies. At least two real-world political movements Marxism and feminism have devoted considerable effort to pursuing [such] utopian objectives.”

Which allegations are false, or “he-said she-said”? All the allegations I’m seeing here are “she-said”, or “she-said, she-said”, like with the different stories she’s told about her undergraduate degree.
One thing that is pretty weird is why this is all coming out now.
These aren’t new stories. I did research back in May. This was known then.
If the writer has to provide a para size disclaimer, will take his opines with a grain of salt.
Pure horse droppings.
I am willing to help to protect you guys from the painful truth even more, since thats what you seek. To wit: whatever you do, do not listen to Christine ODonnell from her various appearances over the years, seen on youtube.
In order to continue believing the lies of the Ruling Class, you cannot know Christine ODonnell for who she really is.
I accept the “smears” are the truth.
She had money problems. Her house had a foreclosure lien put on it. She filed a lawsuit that she dropped. She took a waaaaay long time to pay off her college loans.
These things prevent one from being eligible to run for U.S. Senator?
Two years ago my husband had a brain infection. It got bad, he went into a coma, had to be put in a hospital upstate. Six months prior I had a heart bypass and was awaiting a disa. ruling from Soc. Sec.
Husband had a job but by this time he’d used all his leave, sick and vac time as the coma came in Nov when the pneumonia that started it all was in late Sept. His paychecks stopped.
I had NO money. I had to take a loan out on my house to live.
Now we had a 401K, an old IRA of mine, bunch of stock certificates...TWO 401K’s in fact. We had money but I was a busy happening lady, living my life...thinking nothing bad would ever happen.
Husband comes out of coma and complains about bills sitting on his desk. At the time we had sold our Maryland house for a big profit and had a large amount of money in our checking. I vowed that I was going to straighten it all out, roll over those 401Ks, sell that stock, move that cash in the checking to CD’s. First I’d wait until I got a job in Delaware where we’d moved. Then the heart thing and I’d wait until all the hospital stuff was done. Then I’d wait till my SS claim was resolved. I meant to get around to it.
So I go look on husband’s desk and he’s got a pile of credit card bills. I myself had a credit card with a not too big balance but add in husband’s and we had a slew of credit card debt that I was unaware of. While I was waiting to get around to fixing all our money situation it seems husband figured...he’d charge up until the monthly bill went over $50 then he opened another one. He paid the bills online and even though I am an accountant, well I had every intention of getting around to it.
So there I was, husband deathly ill, piled up to here in credit card bills and then with thousands in medical bills, what with my heart operation and his brain infection. With not one single dime coming in the door.
It’s taken two years but I got it all straightened out. Husband’s company gave him small short term disa...only two hundred a week but it paid the health insurance. I called the credit card companies, gave them the boo hoo about illness, got the interest reduced or totally dropped. We both got SS disa and large back payments. I methodically paid every dime off, fixed up the 401K’s, put aside a sum of money should this never happen again and paid all the credit cards and medical bills.
I also, at one time, filed a rightful lawsuit against a company for which I worked and I won.
So what if silly me decided to run for Senator? You don’t think the Delaware GOP, if I was stupid enough to run against Mike Castle, wouldn’t do a number on me?
PAT FISH ONCE OWED THOUSANDS IN CREDIT CARD BILLS, HAD TO TAKE LOANS ON HOUSE TO GET OUT OF DEBT AND DIDN’T PAY MEDICAL BILLS UNTIL TURNED OVER TO COLLECTION.
When my story is one of an honest American who did the right thing, who struggled, who despaired deep into the night like Mike Castle never did.
Point is, anybody can make any thing sound bad and we’ve all got things we’ve did that can be turned against us.
The more intelligent amongst us demand more answers or, at the least, put it in perspective.
How does any of this prevent Christine O’Donnell from being a good Senator.
The less intelligent amongst us hoot and holler, pick fleas off each other coats....and scream with joy that they’ve discovered a flawed human being like this is nothing new on the planet.
This is so true.
Wow, I didn’t realize that Free Republic was so filled with RINO lovers.
I can help you people to continue to protect yourselves from the truth, since thats what you clearly want. Heres how: whatever you do, DO NOT listen to Christine ODonnell on her various appearances over the years, as seen on youtube.
In order to continue believing the falsehoods you peddle, you cannot know Christine ODonnell for who she really is.
Conservatives support equality under the law.
I support Christine O'Donnell for the US Senate race in Delaware. She is the only conservative candidate in this race.
O'Donnell alleged in a July 1, 2005 complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISI's conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men. She claimed she was fired when she contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regarding her demotion. ISI told the Delaware News Journal that she had been "terminated for operating a for-profit business."
...
Miss ODonnell was and is profoundly humiliated by this demotion of being asked to perform clerical and administrative tasks, after appearing on national television as a media and public relations expert and spokeswoman, for a man who was hired straight out of college as ISIs receptionist and clerical assistant, and whom she had been asked to train previously [emphasis in original].
[...]
For at least six months after being fired, Miss ODonnell suffered enormous pain, cried frequently at the sense of personal loss and failure caused by ISI, and at the sense of injustice, and could not sleep at night, often wide-awake, replaying the whole scene in her mind, until 5:30 am, and has suffered from understandable and resulting depression.
Yeah, your probably right.
I am very sympathetic to voting for the most conservative candidate, I can even understand the logic of doing so knowing it dramatically reduces our chances to win. But to throw away a seat on a fundamentally flawed candidate that has virtually no chance to win - and in a year where a Delaware RINO might be the vote that gives us the Senate? That's just too much for me.
There is a reasonable argument that RINO's do the conservative movement more damage than if we just lost the seat to a liberal. I can understand that point, and get mad enough that sometimes I almost agree with it. But still, political reality is what it is. There are very few chances to get an R elected to the Senate in a liberal state like Delaware. I'd rather have him run and win and get his vote for Majority leader, then throw it away on a supposedly conservative woman who is filing gender discrimination suits against conservative organizations. She just doesn't have a shot in the general, and appears too flawed to even support on principle.
Well said

Wow, and they say O'Donnell is quirky.
