The deeper you go, the hotter it gets. In some of the deepest mines the rock temperature is about 50 degrees centigrade.

Yes, it is.....at least, that has been my experience.

Two days ago, it was reported(radio) that the temperature was over 90 degress in the mine. However; I read this account today in a British newspaper:

"Two stretchers and two first aid boxes could be seen and a thermometer showed the temperature to be 29.5C (85.1F) which is slightly lower than rescuers had thought."

Being from Texas, I would think 85 wasn't that bad.
