Many touching and personal details are in the full article, including the fact that some of these volunteers had been selflessly serving the poor in this region for decades, had raised their families in Kabul, and --- surprising, perhaps, to some --- did no specifically Christian missionizing.

Sometimes, people choose to bring God’s wrath down upon themselves and their children — and it’s best to let them have that which they have chosen.

Maybe, they were killed BECAUSE they were NOT Muslim! Period.

... friends and family bitterly rejected Taliban claims the group had tried to convert Afghans to Christianity. Sadly, This statement seems to suggest that if the group had tried to convert Afghans to Christianity then the killing would have been justified....

As Jesus said, “By their fruit, you will know them.”
Christians bring help and life to others. Muslims bring vicious death. Both will have their reward.

Truman authorized two drops and was prepared for two or three more to bring an out of control, insanely idealistic nation to ... not it's knees ... but to do what rational men want in an irrational condition ...
Stop it ... immediately ... by whatever means.
There's not a one of us ... not you nor me ... that has not experienced something in life where we wished it would just stop .. immediately.
Develope the will to kill .. or be killed.

The Pulp Fiction version is better:
“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

I thought Obamas tribute to these brave souls was particularly touching. Wasn't that in the same speech where he condemned the black racist murderer for the workplace shooting in Connecticut?

It is tragic, yet despite it all - God knows what He’s doing. He will take what was meant for evil & use it for good.
I do understand the Taliban murderers - they serve their father - the devil. And the devil always comes to steal and to kill...and he uses his followers to exact his agenda.
Yes, I do believe these people weren’t “missionizing” as you say. As believers, they knew they could simply live-out the love of Christ, pray for the lost, and deliver healing in the region. They also knew what Muslims don’t know - that individuals cannot “convert” anyone to Christianity. They knew that it is only the Father Who can draw men to Himself.

Like the Grizzly Man but with medical degrees. Some people learn the hard way that you can’t change the nature of savages.

Some months ago there was a blog entry ascribed to a Marine stationed in Afghanistan (at least supposedly) wherein he, among other things, says the Taliban are purely murderers and murder and killing is all they understand. This story makes me believe that.
That said - this is all part of His plan.
