This is so sad-—and a bit scary. What is with Republicans that they hang onto these old farts so often?

"The simple reality is that McCain took his (Hayworth's) border and SB 1070 issue away from him"

And, true to form, a freshly re-elected McCain will flip-flop again and the pro-amnesty, anti-border security RINO we know will re-emerge.

The poling could be skewed.

OR

The voters have very short memories.

OR

The voters are becoming more and more stupid in this nation.

It will be interesting to see exactly what happens in August when the primary is held.

As long as there are Republicans that support this lying sack of $hit - there is no hope for our country. This man has done more damage to us than any other one RINO I can think of - how can any conservative go along with him?

We have got to stop making excuses and giving people like this power over us. I know this poll is probably skewed - but I have a bad, hurtful feeling that the fix is in - and the powers that be are going to win no matter what the people want. I’m sick to death of politics as usual.

I’ll believe that poll if and when it happens.

Hayworth needs to run continuous ads showing Juan McLame advocating amnesty and being the dims pet RINO.

Some would call it "negative" campaigning, but it is nothing more than refreshing the voters' memories.

For what it’s worth:

EDITOR’S NOTE: This Rocky Mountain Poll - Arizona (2010-III-01), is based on 524 interviews with
registered voters statewide conducted between June 30 and July 11, 2010 of which 190 were Republicans,
173 Democrats and 161 Independents. A total of 311 came from Maricopa, 78 in Pima and 134 in rural
areas. Where necessary, figures for age, sex, race and political party were weighted to bring them into line
with their actual proportion in the population. In a sample of this size, one can say with a 95 percent
certainty that the results have a statistical precision of plus or minus 4.4 percent of what they would have
been had the entire voter population been surveyed. The Rocky Mountain Poll is conducted by the
Behavior Research Center of Arizona and is an independent and non-partisan research program sponsored
by the Center.

A margin of error of 6.9% is pretty high. I’d recommend a better study with a larger sample and better margin of error before saying anything else. This could be all outlier numbers. Other polls don’t put the race this wide apart.

While I can’t say that the fat lady is singing, I do, however, hear her clearing her throat.

The really bad thing in this is that the age of McCain means this could very likely be his last election. He’ll be an unaccountable, insider, rino systemite. He’ll wreak havoc with conservative plans.

Is there no way to rehabilitate the third candidate? Does he have more baggage than Hayworth?

Either the media is trying the McCain shuffle again or there are some dumb sh*t Republicans out there.

Palin stepped up bigtime to help out Mclame and basically killed any early momentum for Hayworth... thanks sarah.

I can’t believe Arizona has such a short memory.

"The simple reality is that McCain took his (Hayworth's) border and SB 1070 issue away from him, and then nailed him on ethics issues pertaining to being a lobbyist and so on,"

Yeah he took the border issue out of it with the help of Sarah Palin. He also tarred JD with the "Lobbiest" brush with the help of $20 million left over from his presidential campaign and $5 million in his senate fund. Gee, I wonder how he managed to convince so many Arizonans? Just because there was a glossy flier in their mail every day with a picture of JD looking like some evil cartoon character.

I'm hoping JD can still pull it out, he has very little money but he may just be able to pull if off.

We know we're already scr*wed because it's an open primary. Who came up with that brilliant idea? For me, the devil I know is the devil I will not "hold my nose and vote for" ever again. Made that mistake already and was thanked (in just a matter of weeks) with a Gang of 14 deal.

McCain has been spending millions on radio advertising. Every morning I hear another obnoxious ad and I turn the radio off. Funny... didn't hear a peep out of the guy criticizing Obama during THAT race. From the way he's attacking Hayworth, you'd think Hayworth was a communist, racist, clueless, inexperienced community activist of questionable citizenship and shady background. Oh wait... if Hayworth was all that, McCain would be going easy on him.

I cannot believe I'm saying this, but I honestly am considering voting for the Democrat over McCain if he wins the primary. At least that guy will be a junior senator and the media won't be throwing rose petals at his feet. Yet. All my other conservative friends and family are saying they just won't vote if McCain wins the primary.
