Palin's comment here is where she gets herself into trouble with this issue. She should have immediately stated strictly enforcing existing federal immigration laws would result in many illegals leaving the country voluntarily and back up her claim with the examples of illegals leaving Oklahoma voluntarily after they passed their own immigration laws in 2008 and she should have also remarked how illegals are doing the same since Arizona passed SB1070.

I have noticed many politicians harp on securing the borders first as if that can't be done concurrently with deporting illegals. That couldn't be further from the truth.

O’REILLY: So no amnesty—

PALIN: —we can trust you. No, no amnesty.

O’REILLY: But what do you do with these folks?

PALIN: Which means—

O’REILLY: Do you make them register with the federal government? Do you tell them they have 60 days to get out of here before we put you in jail? What do you do with them?

PALIN: Do we make them register with the federal government? Yes, we do.

This is more double speak by Palin. Do illegals register before or after they leave the country via deportation or voluntarily? If it is the former then that allows them to remain in the country which is amnesty. The latter is already being done by requiring foreigners to register through U.S. embassy's and consulates to enter the U.S.

O’REILLY: And if they don’t register with the — say you gave them 60 days to register with the federal government. There’s a form at the post office they have to send in like a Census form. All right, say they didn’t do it.

PALIN: You deport them.

Deport them after 60 days? That's not what current federal immigration laws state. This is amnesty and Palin is being disingenuous for trying to frame this any other way.

Are you happy? You seem to be. What scares you the most? What scares you the least? What drives you to go ahead and say who you support? Is there a reason? It's not that hard.
