i thought she was still going for a record... the record of circumnavigating the globe that included stops... she's five months younger than the previous person... i read she was still going for some kind of record--though not the initial one...

Yes, but another poster educated me on the route that Abby selected — it’s almost all well down in the southern hemisphere. Can’t avoid big winter storms very easily given that route.

If she had chosen a more equatorial route then she would have been subject to potential interference from piracy.
