She never balanced a single budget, instead having to draw on reserves to make up for deficits. More Bob J lies. After Murkowski rang up a 66% increase in state operating and capital spending in 4 years with no significant increase in reserves, Palin reduced spending by 13% in real terms, tripling the reserves to $9 billion and reducing state earmark requests by 80%.
STOP LYING about her spending record Bob. You've got a lot of nerve telling anybody about your opinion about Sarah Palin lying.

When listing her accomplishments don’t forget that absurdly flawed ethics legislation that she championed and signed into law. You know, the one the backbencher dems in the state used to drive her from office.

When a warrior dismounts to fight hand to hand, you do not call that warrior a "quitter", you call that warrior a hero.
The Palin-bashers don't have anything that even comes close to the courage and patriotism of this lady - she is the most qualified in the whole arena, and is ready to conquer the lions.

Actually I don't hate her. Simply telling the truth. I know it hurts your feelings but personally I don't care. The simple fact remains...she vacated a job in which people expected her to fulfill. She failed to honor her committment.
You can TRY to paint her resignation as not quiting but the simple fact remains...she did.
I'm not saying her reasons were not legitimate and overall probably was in the best interest of the State of Alaska.
Instead of crying over verbiage why not simply tell the truth as to why she left the office.

The Sarahbots are looking for some politically sensitive correctness. We should give it to them by stating she "voluntarily discontinued" her gubernatorial responsibilities. Does that sound better?

P.S. To the Palin worshippers, before you shout troll, be advised that I like Palin and will vote for her when and if she runs. I just don't see her as god, like some of you seem to.

I look at it this way. You are correct, she needs to prevent this narrative in the primary. If she really has the mettle to be President she will do this effectively. Every candidate has pluses and minuses. One of hers is that she left office part way through her first term. This is not a plus, but it does not have to prevent her from achieving office again. There were legitimate reasons why she did. I am sure in her plans (whatever they are), her ability to be on tv regularly, travel the country at will and focus on national issues outweigh the negative. If she had stayed, she would have been spending most of her time up there, and hit with lawsuits and criticism every time she did national tv or travel for non-state business.
In the end, I am not sure sure if it is damaging or not. I have always leaned towards executive experience, at least 2 terms as governor as a starting point for office. The bottom line is that the country is not following that now, we had three Senators last time as finalists. Mitt was a mediocre one-term governor and probably would not have been re-elected. Huck actually fits the model, but I would not support him. It is likely there will not be a two term governor as an option, and it looks like it may come down to a mediocre one-termer from MA, and a 2/3 termer from AK.

why not simply tell the truth as to why she left the office. He did, in post # 16:"She couldnt work for FNC (or do the book tour) if she stayed governor"
That sure sounds like she did it for the money and or prestige of new opportunities, thus serving to weaken her chance for higher office.
She may not ever become President, but her bank account is sure growing.

Great point.
If Palin hadn't of quit (err resigned, slapping self) Obama’s approval ratings would still be in the high 70s even with unemployment at 10-20 % and 2.4 Trillion dollars of new debt. Sarah made the country aware that that those things were bad. It was Sarah that singlehandly brought him down with facebook and “ Drill Baby Drill ” OPPPS sorry (slapping self again) , I mean “ Death Panels ” which killed the Obama-care bill.
