Boo-frickin hoo, Coleman.
Regarding infer vs. imply, the “reporter” was probably a veteran of the OSU Lantern and has never used a dictionary that didn’t end in “dot com.”
But that said, given the context the error was particularly appropriate: “Reform Immigration for America called the promotion insensitive and offensive and said it inferred a racial bias.” Inferring a racial bias is exactly what Reform Immigration for America, along with the rest of the idiot left, is doing: seeing racism when it’s not there, even and especially when it’s explicitly not there.
WTVN’s afternoon drive-time host, John Corby, was the man behind this contest. John is a self proclaimed “regular guy” who hails from the hills of southeastern Ohio. He tolerates BS very little.
Being a fellow southeastern Ohio born and bred “regular guy,” I love John Corby’s uncommon, common sense. I listen to his show every day. We talk the same language.
Also, I suspect that John and/or his producer lurks here occasionally.
I was really happy when I tuned in 610 and heard this ad. It’s amazing how PC this nation has become, and just to hear this commercial gave me some hope! Political correctness is designed to shame us into not telling the truth. The truth is, we have ILLEGAL ALIENS and the one state that is trying to deal with them effectively should be applauded-—not ridiculed.
I agree with you. And I love the Big Bass Brothers.
