I wonder if this twit understands that by federal law many of the players who take part in the events he’s talking about must have “papers” (more accurately their green cards) with them no matter where they go within the US borders, and must present them to prove their status when required by the authorities - next he’ll want to ban all sporting contests held in this “racist” country....
Only this time he’s also being a self-hating, anti-black racist.
This is so absurd. Sports teams have to steer clear of politics, or they would constantly be dragged into one conflict after another. Nobody would be able to play anywhere.
I'm with you there. I won't watch or listen to MLB (are you listening Direct TV and XM? are your advertisers?) if they boycott AZ. Ditto NFL - no more NFL Sunday Ticket, heck, maybe I'll drop Direct TV altogether. I'll stop using products and services of anyone that tries to harm AZ for this simple, common-sense and much-needed law. Meanwhile, AZ based businesses that support the law will get as much of my business as possible.
“Their viewership (with the exception of the NBA) is predominately conservative/Republican.”
####
I’m not sure about that.
And even if true, that did not stop the NFL from shatting upon Rush Limbaugh in his bid to become part owner of the St. Louis Rams. Unfortunately a safe call on their part, as they don’t seem to have suffered ANY repercussions.
Most conservatives don’t give a rip about the NFL shutting out Rush for ownership — a very minor issue. But the illegal alien / border security issue is another matter entirely. If the leagues get involved and mess with AZ, they’ll be be messed with in return far worse.
JJT is not well-respected. If you read the comments on his articles, the readers always blast him.
JJT even makes me long for the days of Skip Bayless.
So the sports world has no problem going to Beijing for the Olympics but won’t go to Arizona. Makes sense to me.
JJT even makes me long for the days of Skip Bayless.
I can’t recall EVER reading a JJT column with which I could agree and I seldom have even completed reading one of his pieces. The Dallas Morning News is a far left paper with a staff of progressives and racists, so I guess JJT’s co-workers don’t have a problem with him. ...Must be kinda like working with Sharpton or J Jackson.
JJT is a blatant racist. His ridiculous suggestion that all pro sports should boycott AZ because the State is reinforcing the Federal law, indicates that he must understand the Constitution as well as Napalitono and Obama.
Exhibit 1 for why the Dallas Morning News circulation is down 21% in the latest survey
they only distibute 260,000 papers these days which is pretty small considering the DFW metroplex size
And Arizona should cease producing electricity and water to any state that participates in the conspiracy. If not applicable, tax athletes from outide Arizona 100% of their salaries. If Arizona is further harassed and penalized, file criminal charges.
How about a baseball league (6) comprised of Arizona, Atlanta, the two Florida teams and the two Texas teams? Or football (10) - Arizona, Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans, Tennessee, three Florida teams and two Texas teams. Or basketball (11) - Phoenix, Atlanta, Charlotte, Memphis, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, two Florida teams and three Texas teams. Or Hockey (7) - Phoenix, Atlanta, Nashville, two Florida teams and Dallas.
First they came for Rush Limbaugh.......
