I respectfully disagree with your threory.

It's a fact, not a theory. I see you're new here, but there have been dozens and dozens of attack threads since you've joined, most of which have out of context Palin quotes. Lately the attacks and misrepresentations are related to her McCain endorsement.

The only part of the show I saw was the Duncan Hines Brownie Husband. That was funny. Laughed all the way through. Then, I changed the channel.

It was mildly funny, but nothing great.

Previous skits of Fey's Palin imitation had some very funny lines.

But this one illustrates' SNL's chronic problem. They take what could have been a hilarious but short skit but then stretch it thin until it's like fingernails shrieking across a chalkboard.

Even Fey looked as if she knew it was desperately unfunny.

CNN: I talked to one political pundit who said, I think Chevy Chase cost Ford the presidency.

Chevy always had a (undeserved) highly inflated opinion of himself and was/is an generally unpleasant human being(just ask anyone he worked with on SNL).

Gerald Ford carried all the baggage of Vietnam, inflation and the oil crisis left to him by Nixon but he was toast the moment he pardoned Nixon. Ronald Reagan(blessed be his name) was tortured by the late night talk shows as well as the media but he dusted off their assaults and won both presidential elections)
