All the GOP needs to do is keep the nomination from leaving the Judiciary Committee. The only reason Sotomayor made it out of Committee was because Graham voted for her. All other GOP committee members voted against her -— even Hatch.
If he would cut the crap this time we could nip a bad nominee in the bud ... in committee.
Historically opposition to SC nominees is very rare. Took 19 days from Ford nominating him to Stevens being confirmed. Things are a lot more political now. And this is something that can definitely be laid at the feet of the Democrats.
