Michael Barone is the king of vote analysis, but I lost count of his count.
Anyone able to follow and arrive at a number or a range?
Is that really true? What about Betsey Markey?
Jeez.
The Federal debt stands at $8 trillion at the end of 2009. But the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Federal Home Loan Bank debt stands at $8 trillion as well. This combined debt load for the U.S. is $16 trillion and represents 110% of our gross domestic product. This Grecian Formula of debt issuance to fund our housing goals is not sustainable. If we add in the $3 trillion of commercial real estate debt, that puts our combined Federal debt plus GSE and commercial real estate debt at 131% of GDP. Greece is at 125% of its GDP. AND THAT IS JUST OUR FEDERAL AND REAL ESTATE DEBT!!
WE CAN’T AFFORD ANY MORE DEBT OBAMA YOU A$$HOLE!
So why didn’t you post the article?
You post claims this is an article by Michael Barone but you sis not post even one word from him.
You are allowed 300 words.
Is this a blog pimp post?
Read the article. It is a very good analysis and definitely encouraging.
I knew Dennis Kookcinich would be a yes vote.....hell he got to ride in Air Force One and watch the uncut version of FINDING NEMO, can’t stop that !
No, it’s not a blog pimp. I guess one excerpt didn’t stand out to me this time. The entire article is worth a read.
Michael Barone always has great analysis and I pray he’s right. I still have hope this bill will come crashing down on Sunday. In the end, the thing politicians care most about is getting re-elected. And voting yes on Obamacare won’t do that.
They have to vote on the rule, right? It has to get a majority also. How is that different than voting on the bill itself, in terms of being accountable for their vote? Just asking.
Here’s the money shot: “This looks like the toughest challenge the House leadership has faced since Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker in January 2007.”
No difference at all.
Unbelievable pressures must be going on in those on-the-fence districts right now.
That's why I didn't believe the FOX panel's predictions yesterday...anything can happen in those pockets of the country over the next 2 days. I think this still has a good chance of breaking in our favor.
Has the bill been posted online yet? Any chance at having 72 hours to look at it, like the One promised, before the vote?
We have a rogue legislative and executive branch. 150 Years ago the President would have been removed, and hung right there on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Markey will now vote yes. I'm not surprised--she's a left-winger in a fairly conservative district (this is what happens when conservatives stay at home)--but I am angry. I'm going to call her office, but I need to calm down first. We're supposed to be polite when we call, aren't we? I'm not capable of that now.
In reality, there's no difference. In theory, it was supposed to provide a "fig leaf" for vulnerable 'rats to claim that they voted for "reform" but not the Senate bill that actually "passed" and was signed into law.
The exposure of the process may have stripped that fig leaf away, however. Despite Hoyer's inanity, the American public generally frowns on people flagrantly breaking the rules to get what they want. (Bending the rules is often seen as courageous but outright breaking them, not so much.)
So, why didn’t you click on the link? Takes you right to Michael Barone’s article. Take a deep breath and go get a cup of coffee.
Seriously, it’s from the Washington Examiner and she is a blogger?
