"It's the nub of solving the immigration dilemma politically speaking," Mr. Schumer said in an interview. The card, he said, would directly answer concerns that after legislation is signed, another wave of illegal immigrants would arrive. "If you say they can't get a job when they come here, you'll stop it." Slime-bag Schumer was instrumental in the 1986 Amnesty. He also assured Americans then - concerned about "another wave of" illegals - that with "employee sanctions" in that bill "you'll stop it."
After Schumer 1986 Amnesty legalized 2.5 million, we now have 12-20 million more illegals and the slime-bag is again selling his @#$% with assurances he knows are false.

Too bad the illegals can’t have tatoos put on their foreheads.
But, nooo, gotta make it harder for the legals.

a national biometric identification card all American workers would eventually be required to obtain. Great! Instead of securing the border and deporting the illegal invaders (too easy) they are going to put biometric trackers on ALL American citizens!

Under the potentially controversial plan still taking shape in the Senate, all legal U.S. workers, including citizens and immigrants, would be issued an ID card with embedded information, such as fingerprints, to tie the card to the worker.Big Government™ at work!

A foreign national ID card already exists. It’s called a PASSPORT.

Anything led by Chuck Schumer has to be assumed, on its face, to be fatally flawed.
How will this be any more effective than the current laws requiring proof you’re in the country legally (generally, a birth certificate) to be employed?

I see a whole new cottage industry of fake ID’s.
And of course telling people they can’t work without a card is like telling a drunk on probation w/no license that he can’t drink and drive.
That works REALLY well.

To believe them would be insanity.

One of the rare times I agree with the ACLU. Instead of cutting off welfare and free medical for illegals, and defending our borders we are going to hassle the honest citizens, AGAIN. Honest citizens do this, do that, pay, pay, pay(this ID card wont be free)Illegals; dont you worry your pretty little heads about anything. Just sit over there with your hand out and we will give you money. This reminds me of a conversation I had a few weeks ago with a woman who works as a nurse. She works on contracts, so she sees a lot of hospitals. She was a bit of a lefty about healthcare because she saw the difficult side of managed care. However, one comment she made stuck with me: She said, "illegals get the best care, because there's no gatekeeper."
Only legals will have to prove their citizenship to work or get benefits. And who are we kidding about whether or not these cards will be able to be faked?

Until, of course, your data ‘disappears’ from the national database because you spoke out against a policy the Administration fancies. Whereupon you can’t work, bank, vote, or a hundred other things that will eventually get tied to this monstrisity.
No thank you.
