Maybe the Dem theme song come November will be “Many a tear has to fall, but it’s all in the game.”

Johnny Mathis was a great singer:)

And, never mind the fact that they and their families will never be subject to this boodoggle.

This woman truly is a nutjob. I’m just wondering how many DEMS truly want to fall on their swords for this hack. Seems to me they like to eat and enjoy all the perks that go with their positions.

She may never be voted out, but, if Republicans gain control of the House in 2010, she will lose her speakership. We can pray!

"We're not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress," she said. "We're here to do the job for the American people."

What is it about these people — their rhetoric and their actions never seem to match?

I am confident that Madame Pelosi and Capt. Zero are perfectly willing to throw fellow Dems under the bus in the next election, if that's what it takes to pass this poison-pill healthcare "reform" legislation. I imagine they believe the electoral carnage will be confined to the Blue Dog Dems — which Pelosi would love to get rid of anyway: It is they who are "dividing" the Democrat Party, dotcha know?

However, evidently she believes the electoral carnage will not be so great as to endanger her Speakership of the House. That is, she believes post-election, the Dems will still have a majority in the House. I guess she is placing her bets accordingly. She may be grossly underestimating the public revulsion to the proposed Dem sponsored- and controlled legislation, especially in matters relating to health care, national security, economic, fiscal, and energy policy....

If I were a Blue Dog Democrat, I would be noticing such things....

Pelosi lives in Fantasyland anyway. Maybe she should go run for office there.

Thanks so much for the post, tobyhill!

Yes, he was and still is.

Back in 1958, it was Tommy Edwards that made it a #1 hit and the one I still remember. Beautiful.

The song ... not the Dems.

Back in 1955 it was Johnny Mathis that made it a hit. Sorry, many a tear has to fall, but it’s all in the game.

I thought Johnny Mathis recorded his first album in 1956. He is so good. He has had hits in the 50’s, the 60’s the 70’s and still sounds good today.

With Tommy Edwards it made it to the top of the charts in 1958. One of the biggest hits of the 1950’s.

Beautiful song, still is today. But then so many from back then are still beautiful and have meaning.

I am probably wrong about the 1955. You are most likely correct. I remember a lot but sometimes I am wrong:).

She makes it very clear that they are there to do the bidding of the democrat party and not to do what their constituents desire.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.
