The democrats loaded-up the defense bills and bills to fund our troops knowing that President Bush would have to accept the bills in order to keep our troops funded, which added to what Glenn calls “Bush’s spending.”

It's basically how DC works.  Until the president gets a line item veto, this sort of crap of loading defense appropriations bills with irrelevant garbage will continue.

Take a look at it from Bush's POV, if he had vetoed the defense appropriations bill because of irrelevant spending tacked to it, he robs the troops of needed funding.

Looks like the pubbie apologists are really trying hard to deflect the attention from their party (lack of) leadership to Glenn Beck’s unorthadox style.

Fact is, the party has been peddling crappy candidates for most races for a decade. Even here in Tennessee, they pushed the semi-RINO Corker and supressed attention away from Van Hilleary in the Senate Primary 2 years ago. Until the party recognizes the democrats and progressives as the enemy, they will not see a red cent of my money. I donate to and support individual conservative candidates only.

There are some great republicans out there - Jim DeMint, Duncan Hunter, and Marco Rubio come to mind - but the party leadership is so intent on “getting along” with the rats that they have become part of the problem.

Right now, Beck is one of a very small handful of people with air time that are exposing the left and telling the truth about our government. If you don’t like him, don’t watch him. But don’t degrade him just because he’s bold enough to tell the truth about your favorite party.

“But if he brainwashes them into voting third party what good is that going to do?”

When did he ever get close to doing that? Hasn’t he freely and repeatedly admitted to voting for McCain(!)?

“The conservative Third party candidate in MN sucked away a large number of VOTES too !!!!”

This particular MN conservative did not vote for Coleman. Never have, never will. I left it blank.

I agree. We need to win votes and seats. A mea culpa campaign is not the way to do that—sound, small-government policies and promotion is the answer.

Glenn is a Libertarian, but like he told the CPAC audience today, he votes Republican and he likes to vote Republican, so I think he’s really trying to get the GOP back to its conservative roots, but the ‘both parties are the same’ has grown a tiresome for those of us who watch him every day. He still loves the thrid party idea, but the Libertarians are already the third party!~

It's great that Glenn Beck is out there pointing out so much about our nation's history, and blasting the politic parties, but that's not enough.

People who criticize from outside the party are just as much a part of the problem as those who abuse their positions within the party. The inside abusers could not get away with their corruption if all the outside critics got involved and participated in selecting the party leaders and platforms.

Independents and third-party people have no business complaining about the Republican Party leaders, unless they get off their duff, join the Republican Party, and participate to bring some sanity to the Republican Party.

Beck did a great service to our country when he did his shows on the czars like Van Jones. However, Mark Levin has no use for Glenn Beck and isn’t shy about admitting it. He knows more about this guy than we do. Glenn isn’t a historian. He just reads a few books and then spouts those talking points.

I’ve heard Levin time after time trounce him for saying Republicans are just like Dems. Sure, they spent too much, but as noted, Bush had no other way to fund the troops. Mark pointed this out many months ago. Too bad, Beck wasn’t listening. He seems to steal a lot of Mark’s show material, rewords it, then pretends to be informed.

I don’t know if Glenn is bipolar or not. He was an alcoholic. Just because someone is bipolar doesn’t mean they can’t function.

My problem with him is his Mormonism beliefs. If he can be deceived by that cult, then he can miss the mark on many other issues. He has a place, but, when he gets off track, he needs to be called on the carpet for it.

For the record, I’ve known some Mormons who are very good people, just misguided in their beliefs. They believe lies.

I don’t follow anyone blindly, however, I put more trust and stock in Mark Levin and Rush than any others. That doesn’t mean I agree with everything they say either, but, they have far more experience than I. Mark is brilliant when it comes to history and the Constitution.

Glenn Beck is one of the few celebrities who gets it. Republicans did spend like drunken sailors when they were in power. They need to be jolted and slapped around into sobering up. Beck is a big help in that direction.

I finally caught his speech on a repeat broadcast.

He nailed it. I don’t agree with every last thing he ever says, but on this night on this occasion he nailed it.

Dude, you entirely missed the point.

Glenn praised the Republican party of that day. It's the ones who have come since, the ones who, when the R's held the majority, still grew the government and still passed out the pork and still couldn't manage to reduce government spending, etc, etc.

The Republican party had the chance to quit playing patty-cake with the Dems and treat this sucker like a game of hardball, but they didn't. It seems the Dems are the only ones who take this seriously.

I like Beck, but he’s basically crazy.

I used to think that, after watching him at CPAC I think he's crazy like a fox.

Watching him at CPAC was like watching a Masters Degree course in American Hisotry. I had my two sons (11 and 13) watch it with me.

Frankly, I think it should be manadatory viewing next year in my son's 8th grade history class when they have to take their Constitution test.

Sorry you feel that way about Beck. But he does tell much as it is and presents it in an understandable way. Also there’s nobody else doing so. Ten years now away from the 90’s that’s a while back to be still judging someone perhaps.

On the Dem/Repub statements I think he’s right in many respects...that does not mean I’ll no longer be a Republican...at least not yet. It’ll take more than a Beck to move me away from that...besides the Repub. is doing a pretty darn good job of turning people off without any help...CPAC is a recent example..Ron Paul straw vote! Give me a break!

The Republicans brought this all on themselves when the DC class quit listening to the base.

Saw Orin Hatch recently on TV...with his new face lift and tons of make up..taking time from his music career to address the little people. He was not happy with the anger out there LOL.

His radio show isn’t on Saturday.

You are probably right, think I recall a statement about a replay when I heard it
