"In any event, the fact that someone is a natural born citizen pursuant to a statute does not necessarily imply that he or she is such a citizen for Constitutional purposes."
You argue that Obama is a citizen if he was born here. And that's correct. But being a citizen doesn't inherently translate to natural born citizen for Constitutional purposes. That's the essence of the statement in the Foreign Affairs manual.
Obama may very well be a natural born citizen. We don't have a clearly defined idea of who is and is not a natural born citizen because the Constitution doesn't define it. The only group of people who are understood to be natural born citizens with a doubt are those born in the U.S. to two citizen parents. Everyone else is in limbo because there is no definition of natural born citizen.
I don't know who you think "y'all" is. I'm not a birther and am not "working the case." I have about as much use for birthers as I do another set of nuts.
Disagree.
See Public Law 414, 1952 Title 3
You’re getting kind of hysterical.
It also takes a special type of vanity and arrogance to pretend you speak with absolute certainty about God’s will and intent.
Disagree.
See Public Law 414, 1952 Title 3
I forgot to add, It takes both blood AND soil to be an NBC in the USA, see the law I referenced above.

Start at PDF page (not the document page) 274 and read Title III. That was the law in effect when Barry was born. He was born British and American, and is not a Natural Born citizen of the USA. He was a Natural born citizen of BRITAIN.
Just to get it in the public eye:

When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdoms dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.s children.
Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.
“
Obama was born under the jurisdiction of Great Britain because of his Father. This precludes ANY possibility of his being a Natural Born Citizen, born with ONLY the citizenship of the United States of America and being of undivided loyalties.
You speak with the authority of our Lord, do you? Unless you prayed and received a word from the Lord for me, you should be very careful.
But 1961 was before all that massive welfare stuff. BTW, my assistant for like 3 years or so has lived in Hawaii for the last two years. She confirms that the wahinis are not liked much. She says it is palpable. She only has a few more months and she’s out of there.
parsy, who wonders why they don’t like us
Try looking up the word “hubris”.
One more time: U.S. citizenship law does not recognize British citizenship law. Nor the citizenship laws of any other country.
Born in the U.S.? You're a U.S. citizen.
Period.
You’re not seeking the truth or God’s will. You’re seeking an affirmation of your self-generated reality. No man comes to power but by the will of God. Obama has a purpose and you can be sure that his actions will carry out God’s perfect plan according to His perfect timing.
Take your self-righteousness somewhere else because it doesn’t belong on a thread about birthers.
There was no threat. Climb down from your cross.
I don’t claim God’s will is even involved in an issue as silly and pointless as this, let alone that I have the wisdom or authority to speak for Him. You’re the one doing that.
And I would never invoke God’s name to wish harm upon others simply to salve my ego over a silly issue of secular fact.
If there was any question about this issue, I'd say a firm precedent has been established.
We elected the SOB without ever raising the question and he is now the President of the USA.
It's a little late to be seeking a definition.
I have about as much use for birthers as I do another set of nuts.
Can you ever have enough...???
One more time.
U.S. citizen does not inherently equate to natural born citizen.
You got me! ROTFLMAO.
If Obama finishes his term, there will be a precedent. I'd hate to see that. That said, I'm not seeking a definition because I don't think the SCOTUS will entertain an eligibility case. I'm just a pedant and like to freaking argue.
Agree. The only circumstance I foresee that would force them to take action would be a documented birth certificate from another country.
And I kinda doubt one is going to show up...
