That 6.5 in Brazil shows no secondary s/wave signatures in any of the webicorders I looked at through the usa.

Weird and something to watch.

My sister in law is getting ready to head to Montana for the summer. I mentioned the Yellowstone activity to her a while back and she put her fingers in her ears and began to sing lalalalalalala! I hope you guys will all be OK. Are you worried?

How can you NOT be just a tiny tiny bit worried? I have lived always on the Gulf Coast of Texas, never gave a thought to volcanoes and earthquakes. I would be a little concerned if I lived 90 miles from one.

Spent a few years around Corpus Christi and Kingsville, so have about the same attitude about Yellowstone blowing her top as we both probably have about hurricanes: Outside of being as prepared as I can get, worrying about the stuff won’t do much but give me more grey hair.

And being prepared for a volcano mostly means we watch for swarms that get over 3.0 to 3.5, then think about a boogie.

I considered the hurricane angle, I live 50 miles from the coast and 50 ft above sea level so a tree through my roof or a tornado is what I expect from a hurricane. You are correct those possibilities do not worry me. I have cousins in Missoula and they aren't worried about Yellowstone either. But I must tell you, the ramifications of an eruption of Yellowstone is scary, much more so than a hurricane.

I would think it signals that it was a fore-runner quake...we shall see.

There’s a prefab lightweight concrete dome manufacturer in Florida, or was . . . worth building with, imho.

I have seen dome houses....... UGLY.......... We have friends in Galveston, during Carla, the big one back in the late 50’s or early 60’s, the roof of their 2 story house was lifted off of the house. No one was hurt inside.

WOW.

Yeah, some can be really ugly.

Not all of them. Some are beautiful, imho.

They still enclose the most space per square foot of exterior surface area.

And far stronger.
