No Alan Keyes wants to turn this country into Theocracy.... You don’t win by losing..
Right, and you'd think we all knew that.
Our due date is 9.17.2010! McCain is what is wrong with the Republican party. He has always been a thorn in the side of conservatism. That Brown would already be making robocalls on his behalf against Hayworth is a huge red flag.
It is something other than "steamrolled", if they are actually working toward achieving the same goals.
Why did Brown say he opposed amnesty? Fiscal and security reasons?
If political alliances and pragmatsim trump national security, what is Brown then?
A RINO and a political opportunist that took advantage of a conservative backlash to win an election?
Keyes is a joke, as pointed out by Charles Krauthammer.
Worth repeating.
Supporting McCain over Hayworth...give me a break!
Considering Brown's victory has created the conservative result of derailing the Obama/Dem agenda, I'd say that statement has already been proven false. The only way it can be considered true to to pretend there is no conservative benefit to derailing that agenda, which is what Keyes and EV have done here - and that is patently absurd.
Theocracy? Hardly. But Your statement does scream: "I AM NOT REALLY A CONSERVATIVE!" Only liberals complain about a political candidate/pundit turning the country into a theocracy. You would not have appreciated the Founding Fathers.
Alan Keyes loses elections because the electorate votes for symbolism over substance. And...The electorate lives in a constitutional republic and they want all of the freedoms and prosperity that it affords, but, at the same time, they want all of the "security" (cradle to grave care) and entitlements that are promised by a socialist state. You can't have it both ways. It is an impossible political climate for truly conservative candidates, especially with the socialist bandwagon media beating their unrelenting drum for conservatisms opponent.
How has it derailed it?
“Did he know which way was up on gun control, amnesty, etc.?”
Earlier you were talking about President Reagan’s willingness to compromise where neccessary, and now you’re implying that a compromise impeaches his principles.
Can’t have it both ways.
And yes, he knew which way was up on gun control and amnesty, but sacrificed for what he judged to be higher priorities.
“I didnt lie about anything. Why do you keep saying that?”
He’s using Gramsci’s tactics.
You're kidding, right? You can't see for yourself how many centrists Dems are declaring health care reform as it is currently written dead, that other Obama items are toast? Seriously, how can one have a debate with so many people who live in abject denial of reality?
Currently written? Yep, I see it...whatever that means as nobody had read the entirety of the proposed versions.
Brown supports government run health care and said that he would go to Washington to help them write a better bill. Will writing a better government run health care bill derail Obama's agenda?
I really hope you are right, but, as I said before, I am afraid that the hand writing is already on the wall, especially with his support for McCain.
"I can do better. We can go down there and hold the line. We can go back to the drawing board on health care. As the forty-first Senator I can tell them to do better, and try again and get something like we have here in Massachusetts."
Brown has also said that health care reform should largely be a state issue. We'll see how that plays out. For now, the Dem proposals are DOA. So are many other aspects of the Obama agenda.
To whatever extent Obama is stopped, I will give the credit to God, not to lying liberal pro-abortion politicians. You do what you think is best. If you think you can produce good fruit from a bad tree, that’s your call. Good luck.
Well, then, you are basically asserting that God worked through Scott Brown. You really sure you want to go there?
God can do whatever He wants. His perspective is infinitely greater than yours or mine.
But that doesn’t mean He wants us to give our sacred franchise or our trust to those who have no regard for the protection of the unalienable rights of the weakest and most helpless among us.
Don’t tell me you can do wrong and have good be the result. That’s the original lie, and it’s as old as the human race. Its fruit is death, destruction, pain and suffering.
