It’s like TALKING IN CAPITALS.

And it's like using the left's vulgar reference to the Tea Party movement. There are no TEA-BAGGERS in that movement.

Here is an interview with Debra Medina regarding state sovereignty. She is unwavering in the written interview and this played out in the interview tonight..

It appears catarac is a KBH supporter just here to trash Medina in a Ron Paul supporter kind of way.

Explain this to me, oh mighty wise one, why is it that one county raised the appraisal and the other one did not. Also, please, explain to me how the Governor influenced the one county but not the other?

If you think Medina would be a good choice for Texas’ Governor, then visit her campaign website and maybe even donate $10 or $20.

http://www.medinafortexas.com/

An interesting side note is that Medina’s website list $10,000 as a donation option. This is so because the FEC doesn’t control state elections, thus the rules that limit federal contributions to $2-$3K don’t apply. In any event, it’s small donations that make the difference.

REMEMBER THIS, TEXANS:

Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress

“One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchison’s amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.”

I would just like to add that the State of Texas is prohibited from levying a state-wide property tax. This is precisely the reason why Texas’ Foundation School Program (Education Financing Scheme) was struck down in 2005 as violating the Texas Constitution. Discretion must be left to the LOCAL GOVERNMENTS in levying property taxes, if at all. Rick Perry had nothing to do with one county taxing more or less.

Property taxes are hugely important to education financing in Texas, as it is in most other states, and even if we do have “Robin Hood” or a similar program, the local governments STILL have discretion in levying property taxes.

Thanks for the reminder. I'd forgotten about that one.

The other candidates need to smack Kay Bay with it........repeatedly!

The more I hear Medina, the more I like her. I wonder if she FReeps? :-)

“I really like Medina. She has good ideas and is a true conservative as far as I can tell. I’m going to vote for her in the primary, and if she doesn’t win, I’ll vote for Perry.”

This is one of those times where, whether I like it or not, I want the person who can beat Bill White(socialist Democrat). Medina isn’t well known enough. We had to stomach Bill White as mayor for way too long. He’s an open borders advocate who turned Houston into a barrio and Home Depots into day labor centers. But I digress... I’ll take Perry over Kay though. She’s the more Rino of the two.

Media ad:

“Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?” (Medina’s cultural heritage is German and Bohemian.)

She told a colleague last month in an e-mail. “Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.”

But before she explained that, she told my colleage, who had asked her whether she considers herself Latina: “I’d not consider myself anything other than a wife and mother, a nurse and a patriot. I believe we too often get into race when it’s immaterial.”

No, Thanks, Mrs Medina.

She is also running Spanish ads. Hello Mrs.Medina! If they cannot speak English then they have no business voting IMO. When they learn English then let them vote. Assimilate. Learn English. Appreciate all America gives you.

So I’m sure she is blowing a lot of hot air just like Obama did just to get elected. Running those ads and saying what she has, tells me the border issue is just a try to get votes for herself.

No, thanks, I’ll stick with ‘ol RINO Perry. Texas has remained in better shape than almost any if not all of the states in the union under Perry's watch. As someone said, 'he's the devil we know'.

We don’t have a heck of a big choice; a MUSLIM, a trecherous RINO woman* (Hutchison) and a woman with questionable loyalties.

Medina cleaned KBH & RP clocks in that debate, if Texans vote for hair gel or ms. hyphenated, Texans will get what they deserve, the choice of candidates could not be more clear , You can stand for the Constitution/Liberty or you can keep voting for the same failed double talking recirculated politicians that have gotten us into this mess from the local-state-federal governments

No votes for Rinos, huh. I guess that means you would not vote for Scott Brown if you lived in Mass.

You aren’t even a Texan?

It seems that the only Medina supporters on this thread have been here a few short months and are jerks that can’t even answer a simple question. Or are the same person.

No help for Medina there.

I watched with the Dallas Tea Party and judging from the applause Medina was the winner.

Before tonight I have known little about her, she sounds like a true conservative.

I need to know more about her past before I jump on the bandwagon.

Never said I was a Texan, but FWIW take it from a native Ca who has been under the assault of Arnold Kennedy DiFi,Boxer......., Rick Perry, HBH, has been following the same model as Ca, more gubmint jobs less private sector jobs , more gubmint debt-control, more taxes & where do you think those peeps that are moving into Texas coming from ?

A lot of em are libtards from Ca , ask NV, AZ, NM , CO how the CA libtard invasion has worked out for them , to be forewarned is to be forearmed

I agree with you about Perry on all but one point: I pay property taxes in five Texas counties, and all but one have gone down for the past two years.

Perry’s behavior re: eminent domain and the TTC has been reprehensible.

I do not support Perry, but I will vote for him because Hutchison is even worse and because Medina doesn’t have the experience and clout to fight the Democrats in state redistricting next year. For his experience in that one area, I will hold my nose and vote with regret for Perry.

funding the state with sales taxes.

Jeez, how high would they have to go ?
We might not have a state income tax but property & sales taxes are already high.
