"That is the stupidest thing I've been asked in a long time. That is insane, the suggestion could only come from a demented right wing source," erupted Representative Barney Frank (D - MA)So the Secretary of the Commonwealth is a "right-wing source"?

"When I heard ... the machine, not only locally but nationally, is trying to manipulate the process and make sure that if I'm elected, a duly elected senator, I can't be seated in an effort to vote on this important piece of national legislation, it made me almost sick to my stomach," Brown said. Very smart move by Brown to get things out in the open and bring attention to the rats' shenanigans and dirty tricks.

"Everything I've heard right now I don't like very much," said Massachusetts Senate Minority Leader Richard Tisei, noting the secretary is signaling he will "drag his feet" The speculation of a vote holdout is already being reported by news and commentary sources. All Americans have disgustingly come to expect such behavior from the party that votes behind closed doors in the middle of the night.

“It Can’t Happen Here”
Novel by Sinclair Lewis, published in 1935. It is a cautionary tale about the rise of fascism in the United States. During the presidential election of 1936, Doremus Jessup, a newspaper editor, observes with dismay that many of the people he knows support the candidacy of a fascist, Berzelius Windrip. When Windrip wins the election, he forcibly gains control of Congress and the Supreme Court, and, with the aid of his personal paramilitary storm troopers, turns the United States into a totalitarian state. Jessup opposes him, is captured, and escapes to Canada. — The Merriam-Webster Encyclopedia of Literature

Ted Kennedy’s replacement was “selected not elected” in a move that was contrary to Massachusetts law.
The bastard who sold this country out (the banking crisis was a man-made disaster) lies.

Judging from the intense emotional reaction of Rep. Frank (Demented-MA) only proves the old adage, "where there's smoke, there's fire."

I know it’s a different state and a different chamber, but how long did it take the winner of the special in NY 23 to get sworn in and vote on health care legislation?

I think the Dems threw that out there to discourage the voters who are against obamamcare and see Brown as the one who could stop it. They’re hoping that those voters won’t go vote.
I think it just makes people angrier!!

Not sure, but I think there were skid marks on the ground, and lingering smoke in the air from burned rubber on the limos and airplanes...

The whole idea of spreading the news of a planned delay in swearing in a Republican winner has served to take that option away from the liberals who, in my opinion would certainly have done exactly what they were claimed to have been planning.

A special election was held on November 7, 1962 here in MA for the senate seat vacated by John Kennedy. Ted Kennedy won. Ted Kennedy was sworn in on... -drum roll-...
November 8, 1962.

Yes, JFK vacated the "kennedy seat" in '60, but then the interim "kirk"
Benjamin A. Smith II guy was appointed until the Swimmer could rightfully take the "kennedy throne".
