Looks line Obummber improved by a few points overnight .... :) But his overall approve/disapprove numbers match his worst showing yet. There is still good news in there.

"Abyss" = +1 if I read correctly.
Merry Christmas to all.

I have always questioned the strongly agree/strongly disagree. Someone might switch from disagree to strongly disagree for emotional reasons (e.g. just had a fight with spouse).

The bigger news is his overall popularity. Total approve/disapprove is 44/56, giving a -12. The strongly disapproving critics are having an effect. We may see more of this after Christmas family get-togethers provide more opportunity for snide remarks about Obama.

Don’t worry. As the truth comes out about what is in this bill we’ll drive his numbers into the dirt. They rush to pass a bill to “help” the uninsured yet it doesn’t kick in for over 3 years? What B.S. We need to hammer this point.
To: grady
Those overall approve / disapprove numbers are polling porn to me. They are just as bad for him as his record-setting day of -21 approval index, a couple of days ago. In other words, a tie for the record.
The into the abyss metric (with a single day of +1, only a bit over his all time low abyss measurement), measures overall approval versus strong disapproval.
Have a Merry Christmas, my fellow poll nerds. See you when numbers start getting posted again!

The key difference between strong disagree and plain disagree is that somebody who strongly disagrees is much more likely to voice critical remarks about him, and to defend those remarks when supporters attack him. Over time, critical remarks will degrade Obama's support.
Back in October, we had stretches where O had double-digit negatives among the strongs, but was close to 50/5 overall.
Now he's -12 overall. His support is degrading, and once somebody switches from supporter to disapproval, he's more likely to become a strong disapprover than go back to being a supporter.

Any similarity between this pic and the actual health care bill is unintentional and coincidental...

“His popularity is soaring.”
On what planet?
To: SmokingJoe
The trend is not his friend yet ours! The fact is “disapprovers” will be 100% to take action in 2010 as “approvers” will be half way at best motivated to do the same. That said with these numbers the Dimwits are in very deep trouble.
To: madprof98
Curious.
GWB, a republican, is viewed as a rich elitist, because he goes back to his ranch in Texas, for the holidays, where he lives in a fairly modest home. While there he did ranch work.
Meanwhile Zero is one of the people, when for the holidays, he goes to Hawaii, where he has no home, and rents a $4000 a day house. While there he'll golf.
