That CME is supposed to reach the Earth on Friday according the the Solar Cycle 24 website. There was only a small flare associated with that CME. Most of the activity in the first half of the solar cycle occurs in higher latitudes (see how the CME is directed away from the orbital plane). So there is less of an affect on the orbital plane. It is during the last half of solar cycle activity that the CME’s and Flares are more directed towards the orbital plane. And the Earth tends to exhibit solar warming during the last half of the activity phase. We are a few years away from any possible warming affects. Cooling Rules the Earth for awhile.

Great, and I just got finished watching 2012. That CME only sent a small amount of mass into the orbital plane of the Earth. Actually, a less active sun is much safer. It means less CME's and less Solar Flares. We have recently discovered that suns can let lose immense solar flares. Obviously the resulting cooling that occurs during less active solar phases will be a problem. And just like the real threat we face against Islam, we are on our own against the cooling. In fact our government appears to want to make the cooling period even worse.
