Berkeley, and California in general, is reaping the fruits of its socialist ideology (not held by Jim Thompson and others). The rioters think think low college tuition at taxpayer expense is a "right".

These people are idiots! Don't they know they need to be firebombing the state capitol building in Sacramento to have any real impact?
Typically lazy stoner California college students. They sally forth from their dorms in a haze of pot smoke to firebomb something in order to make a positive impact and help fix the economy, and then they don't get any further than the Chancellor's residence before confusion sets in, resolution flags, and they need to relight their dubbies. They decide, oh what the heck, this building right here is good enough. Bombs away!

That's strange... they don't fit the profile from Napalitano's DHS report about Domestic Terrorists.
Hmmmm.

They sally forth from their dorms in a haze of pot smoke Thanks for the memories....

"The eight were arrested on suspicion of rioting, threatening an education official,..." Are university bureaucrats now some sort of special protected class? What class of crime would it be if the person was only a janitor or just a student?

He lives on campus provided for and maintained by students and taxpayers funding. He should have listened to the students and then relayed the problems to the budget committee. But he was comfortable. He was not losing pay or housing.
And there is that funding to UNIONS that these students are paying for in higher tuition that he should have tried to stop.
You teach liberals to attack when others do not agree with them and guess what happens?!?

...protesters also threw incendiary devices at police cars and the home of Chancellor Robert Birgeneau about 11 p.m. Friday. There were no fires ...They could not even make a working Molotov cocktail.
