When there is a nearly lone voice on the national stage saying things you want said, it's hard not to support that lone voice. I know, I know, there are others saying it, but Palin’s getting the message out, which seems impossible for our GOP leaders to do.

If a conservative doesn't win the nomination for the GOP, then I will not vote for them. I will vote for whomever wants and actively, through deed and word, seeks out my vote. If that is a third party, then that is who I will vote for. If there is no third party conservative choice, I'll write my own name in if I have to.

But I'm done voting for anyone who takes my vote for granted, done voting with the herd. It accomplishes nothing. If the eight years of Bush didn't teach us that, nothing will.

I am a constructionist first. The Constitution limits the role of government, as our founding fathers knew that power corrupts. There is no provision in the Constitution for a standing army - that power was put into the hands of the states, as, again, our founding fathers knew that it'd be much harder to enforce power without the means to do so. Our founding fathers knew that if the people were unarmed, they would be powerless to fight off oppression.

There is nothing in the Constitution that compels me to listen to the US government, and absolute limits on the government in silencing what I have to say.

We don't need an armed insurrection in this nation, we simply need to do what the founding fathers charged us with doing - take responsibility. Take back the power from the government, and my first step is taking back my power from the GOP.

They want to represent me? They can first represent my views. They want to get elected, they can start by cutting back their own office budgets, they can start by opting out of congressional payola in the form of retirement and health benefits. They can use that enormous salary they get paid each year to buy these things for themselves, if they so desire them. Because who can trust a congressman to tell the federal government to live within it's means when they are unable to manage this feat themselves.

Is there one person I'd prefer or not? At the moment, not really. As I said, I like what Palin’s saying, and dislike that hers is one of the few conservative voices that are emerging from the bubble. So do I presently care if she gets the nomination? Not really - she herself has quite a journey to travel before she'll have earned my vote even in the primary.

It's the end of 2009, oh politicians of the world. You've less than a year before midterms, and almost three years until the next presidential election. Time to start campaigning for my vote, as it's no longer free.

Should Sarah Palin not get the nomination, I’ll vote for another conservative, if there is one.

I’ll not again throw away a vote for another mcloon(or equivalent).

And no amount of whining, name calling, wailing or gnashing of teeth will change that.

Nominate a conservative and there will not be a problem.

I support Sarah and at this point she is probably my first choice but things can change. What will not change is acceptance of Liberals. Do not try and nominate Pawlenty, Huckabee, Romney and tell me they are conservative.

I supported Duncan Hunter then Thompson then Palin in ‘08. I’m flexible. However, I don’t think a conservative VP choice will persuade me to swallow another RINO again on the top of the ticket.

What will you do when she wins, Bobby?

Nothing. Let her speak privately for the next 20 years promoting conservatism, the same way Goldwater and Reagan took their ideas to the road. I’ve met Palin personally, and she’s a bright woman. She’ll do what’s best - and that might mean not being straitjacketed by political obligations.

Would this hypothetical nominee be an actual conservative or another aisle-reaching liberal RINO in the Rudy McHuckaRomney mold?

Simple, if the nomination is another conservative, I support and work for them. If not, if the GOP wants to continue the RINO trail ... I’ll sit this one out and will write a letter to each of my GOP candidates that COULD have received my vote and tell them why they wont be getting my vote this year.

If it’s not Sarah or Michele Bachman or their equal; if it’s one of the same tired same old, same old, I’ll either write in or sit on my hands. NO MORE RINO POS’s, ever, period. No McRomney’s, no Rudy’s, no more not ever. You got a problem with that?

I say let’s not wait to find out who the nominee is. Let us conservatives become precinct committee chairs and captains and have some say on nominee.

This is all mental masterbation.

We have very difficult tasks to accomplish long before the 2012 General.

Let’s get Socialized Healthcare and Reps like Alan Greyson defeated before we worrk about 2012.

I believe that Sarah would still attempt to influence the party platform in a Reaganesque direction. The question is not fully answerable without knowing who else has won the nomination.

It would take a pretty horrible GOP personage, however, to lose the general election to Obama. After four years of Obama, America will be ready to elect a ham sandwich to the White House in place of Obama.

I will hope that the winning candidate is even better, and that Sarah (assuming no intervening scandal) gets the VP slot.

I’ve not seen a better potential candidate so far though! :-)

In the long run, it doesn't matter if the nominee is Sarah Palin or not. If the next Republican nominee is NOT someone who is OPENLY PROUD to be a conservative, and EXCELLENT at explaining in common sense language what conservative principles are, and why they help ALL AMERICANS, and why socialism will NOT, then that nominee will lose. Period.

Sarah Palin, as of this writing, is the ONLY politician who is unabashedly conservative and will boldly speak out against socialist policies. No one else has the BALLS.

I’ll write in Duncan Hunter again. If the GOP won’t stop the slide into the sewer of the left, why should I support it. From here on in, all my money goes to the personal campaigns of conservatives. The GOP can jump in a lake.

Putting up with RINOs keeps them in office.

Vote third party, unless there’s a truly conservative candidate in the major party.
