Repeal the 17th is part of the answer to that.

No real need to apologize Hank. I must disagree on biblical Isreal. Physical Isreal HAS to be where the temple Mount is. The Mount of Olives? etc. etc.

btw. Do you ever read any of David Wilkerson’s prophetic books or listen to his sermons on the web? Awesome. I have read every book. Some of the ones from over 20 years ago are happening before our eyes. Blessings, CO

“That does not mean that things might not have been worse if the war was not fought, only that things would definitely have been better if there had been no war.”

I wonder what the above sentence was supposed to have meant. As written it appears totally contradictory.

It means, simply, if a nation’s only means of defence against an invasion is to go to war, and the war successfully repulses the invasion, things would have been worse if the war had not been fought, probably. However it would have been better if there were no invasion, and therefore no necessity of war at all.

Now I have a question for you. Is it wrong to refuse to fight for your contry’s government. (Only governments wage wars, not individuals.) Does it matter what kind of government it is? What kind of government would you say this country has at the moment. (Not what it was meant to be, but what it actually is.)

I just need to know one thing: Where they are...

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

I thought you did:

“I’d suggest few(er) citations from pacifist sermons. “

If that’s not what you meant to imply, I apologize.

I do not believe in God, and find it very difficult to take the pronouncements of anyone who commands, “thou shalt not kill” and a few pages later is commanding the wholesale killing of men, women, children and animals as the basis of what is good. Not saying you shouldn’t, but you can understand why I don’t.

“Yup. Dude IS an idiot; and panty-waste to boot.”

A thugs idea of courage, spoken from the safety of anonymity.

Thanks for the illustration.

Thanks I remember seeing that when it was posted.

Read this thread and you will see why the way you mention will not work.

It’s not that I don’t wish your way won’t work it’s just that at the pace this is moving they need to do something fast.

“perhaps even marshal law.”

Perhaps the author would benefit from learning to spell martial law, and why it’s spelled that way.

Thanks for the link. I’m familiar with it.

I’m not opposed to shedding blood, if it comes to that. Don’t think the purpose here is even to evade that. If the government is bent on using force, it probably can’t be prevented.

A strike might be able to head that off. Think a minute. If all the people, even the lefties knew they were not going to be able to have a doctor when they needed one, and it was because they quit because of Obama’s actions, don’t you think they’d be eager to get rid of Obama, and the doctor’s back?

I do not believe in God, and find it very difficult to take the pronouncements of anyone who commands, “thou shalt not kill”

The actual wording is "thou shalt not murder." The other is a commonly corrupted translation. There is plenty of good society and God sanctioned killing. Killing a maniac who is stabbing children on a sidewalk is a good thing. And it's not murder.

Words have meaning. Murder is not the same as kill. Marshal is not martial. Before you go writing major sermons for the unwashed, work on your basic knowledge.

“It’s not that I don’t wish your way won’t work it’s just that at the pace this is moving they need to do something fast.”

I understand. It is moving very fast, but I’m not sure what you think ought to done.

For example, you said, “they need to do something fast.” Who is “they.” One advantage of a strike is that everyone that is subject to this repressive government can participate. No one will have to say “they” and watch from the sidelines.

And it can be done “fast.”

Well, thanks for the advice. I’m sorry I cannot return the favor, as I do not tell other people what to do.

But I will pray for you. Considering how evil I am, and my position on God, that should really worry you.

It would be nice if the author could spell 'martial' correctly.

Sorry about my previous post. I misread yours.

I have an excuse. I usually have a boilermaker or two in the evening, and had just poured myself a big shot of bonded Old Grandad while reading your post. Thought I read “I just need to know one thing: Where YOU are...” I absentmindedly downed the shot while reading, but I had forgotten to get my beer chaser. Wrote my response in a hurry.

Have had a chance to get my beer and read a little more leisurely, and see my mistake.

So my new response is:

They are everywhere you look. You don’t even need to aim.

Hank
