In the ‘10 MA Gov race, you have Deval Patrick (D, pal of Obama) with horrid poll numbers, facing a GOP challenger (either Charles Baker or Christy Mihos—Mihos ran as an independent in ‘06) and an independent, former Dem treasurer Tim Cahill (who is alleged to be a fiscal conservative). Some recent polls show that Cahill and the GOP candidate, whomever it is, would split the anti-incumbent vote and get Deval
back in, despite Patrick’s low numbers (while there is a lot of anti-tax sentiment in the state there are also lots of moonbats who will vote D at any cost, despite Deval’s current crappy poll numbers)
I couldn’t agree more. Do a HOSTILE, if nessessay takeover of you local and state GOP and PURGE ALL RINOs. Then RUN for office.
Think twice???? How arrogant of you Mr. McCarty. We have thought over and over and over again. Way more than twice, or even three times. The RINOs have failed in every respect.
Close the primaries and end “same day registration” and we will not need a third party. We’ll nominate conservatives and take the GOP back to the party of limited government and individual freedom.
Sorry. I only support candidates who will adhere to their sworn oaths to uphold and defend America’s core founding principles. Party labels are utterly meaningless now in that regard.
I think the truth is that there is no solution. We are screwed either way.
There’s a case to be made for that. Just get it over with. Shoot me now. Until we hit the bottom, we can’t change our trajectory.
Well said. What's really needed is for these "conservative third party" organizations to focus on fielding and supporting conservative/libertarian candidates in the Republican primaries against RINO incumbents.
Control of the Republican party by conservatives can be done, one race at a time.
Actually there is a solution. It's just not one that people want to hear, because the first step toward the salvation of the country is to return to the fundamental principles the America was founded upon.
Then what's needed is a "Conservative Leadership Council", to which conservatives can donate INSTEAD of the official party machinery, and which can flow money towards conservatives in primary races, and in general election races where the RLC is not adequately backing conservative candidates.
I would rather have had more time to fight it.
By the time you have hit bottom, its too late to change your trajectory.
Hmmmmm...I might just do that; & continue to vote 3rd Party come election time, 'cuz if the GOP continues to nominate big-government neocons who (1) are willing to sacrifice the sovereignty of the United States & (2) have no respect for the Original Intent of the Constitution (Juan McCain, Bob Dull, Bush I & Bush II) I will have nowhere else to go. Thank you!
Yes, this is what I'm talking about. If conservatives just send money to, and volunteer for, conservative candidates, then the RLC will eventually have no choice.
Support conservative candidates. If your state or district has no conservative candidate, then support a conservative candidate in some other area.
Sorry the Republicans have to get my vote back the old fashioned way, they have to earn it. If you don’t vote for the party that most represents you, you will have wasted your vote. Silent views will never be known and the GOP will accept your vote as their mandate.
If the GOP can’t come up with candidates and positions that 50%+ of the country support, they have to keep going back to the drawing board until they do.
The patriots who took on the Brits weren't just middle class citizens complaining about the gubmint. They were the cream of the crop. They were rich, successful men. They were at the highest levels of colonial government. They were military men, scientists, lawyers, landed aristocracy.
And when they threw a tea party, it wasn't just a harmless town meeting. It was out and out civil disobedience and rebellion. They backed it up with their money, their lives, and their expertise.
Where are such men today? They don't exist. The dark side has won. The majority of Americans are ignorant and petty when it comes to politics. The tiny little percentage that cares about constitutional gubmint are powerless to make real change. We're just playing around at the margins.
I personally think the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. What conservatives need to do first is give up on the constitution. It's a failure. Give up the dream. Until we are ready and able to start over, we'll get nowhere. If the founders were here, I doubt they'd waste their time with the current setup. They'd admit the failure and try again, this time with some important changes. The Constitution was a mistake. The anti-Feds were right.
In my opinion it was too late a long long time ago. The Constitution was a mistake. The anti-feds were right.
& who is the king of all Progressive Republicans...& the one that Juan McCain looks up to the most? It's Teddy Roosevelt. I say it's time to blow his face (& that of Abe Lincoln) of the face of Mt. Rushmore & replace it w/ James Madison.
I won’t vote for a brand name again.
If the gop can do no better than mcloon, mittwit or the huckster then they can go pound sand.
The (R) has lost all real value. It’s like General Motors.
