if you want petty how about Sean ignoring ACORN for months (on his TV show) until it heated up and Beck was getting huge Fox ratings for BigGovernment.com giving him the tapes first (even beat BOR twice) (for his radio and TV show) and suddenly Hannity got interested, had Breitbart on and said "tomorrow I get the tape first release on this program" -- so no one go them until late that night when Hannity finally went with them and what did he do? Gave it about two or three minutes and that was it, wasn't until the next afternoon that Beck really took them and delved into them (the San Diego tape)... Hannity didn't care about ACORN, if he did he would have really spent some time on it, no.. it was about beating Beck... even my very non-political husband picked up on what was going on.
Anyway, I give that antidote to mention they are all jealous and competitive... it's all the name of the game...
and Mark sort of started this before the McCain comment when he had to weigh in on some liberal publication that said Beck was the "leader of the GOP"... Mark could have just reminded people Beck isn't a Republican, but instead he had to jump in and try to pit Beck against Rush (who had just been on Beck's show)...
Mark needs to chill and stop the name-calling on his show.
Hmmm emotionally attached? I wouldn’t say that. I find him humerus and informative. And I think his 912 project is admirable..
Don’t listen to Sean so don’t ask me to defend him. And I don’t want petty, no.
I did not agree with Mark going public with it, but I do not blame him. If I had worked hard on something for that long, I’d be angry as heck as well, if someone used it without attribution.
I will.
Later.
I’m outside, away on vacation and out on the deck is the only place I can get the internet.
Its raining!
Later.
This is exactly what Beck was talking about - not only intra-conservative fighting, but also between honest Democrats and Republicans. I think Beck honestly believes that those not on the *hard left really can be brought to an agreement that what Obama’s doing is not in our country’s best interest.
I think that’s a good tack to take, because the hard left is busy playing “let’s you and him fight.”
Beck’s got a great eye for the macro view, and for tying pieces of history together. His special program on the early 20th century progressive movement was brilliant, as was his part in bringing “The 5000 Year Leap” back to the forefront after 25 years.
The first time I heard him, several years ago in Florida, he was more of the “sick, twisted freak” guy - yes, he’s intense, but I have come to believe his intentions for our country’s survival are absolutely on-track.
We need all of them.
We are all on the same side I can’t accept the premise of Becks comments I was very disappointed because he does have much inflience due to some of his great reporting some people get lazy into thinking he has all the answers and they dont have to think for themselves. I would like to hear him speak of Conservatives taking back the party for once not for me but for the drones on our side. Remember the left plays to win at all costs if we allow them to divide us now we are done and the day of communicating over sites like this are over.
Hope it doesnt rain on our wedding day.
And all your friends and family in the military agree with you, do they?
I agree Beck has done great work the most admirable is the actual reporting of material that most anchors would not touch. He has opened himself up to threats on levels we can only imagine.
Well in this I think you can, Beck has the number #1 talk thread on FR these days more often than not where previously Rush has dominated for years, why is this? Surely Beck has never mentioned FR on his T.V. or radio show, for if he had his thread numbers would probably double.
If you have millions listening to your show and you continually reference a website, it's bound to generate interest in that website and people will eventually find your thread as a result. But he hasn't yet the 1 hr Beck thread and most threads about Beck continue to generate a lot of interest.
You could dismiss it as just a cult following but it's not just an FR thing, Beck's T.V show is rising rapidly according to the cable ratings, threatening BOR's crown as #1 cable king, why is this? I imagine Beck's radio show probably is also experiencing a nice bump in his ratings due to his sudden rise in popularity, only time will tell how much, but why is this?
The sudden amount of criticism aimed at Beck from both the Left and some on the Right corresponding with the high interest that follows his FR threads from dare I say politically astute Freepers only affirms to me the impact Beck is having across the board. Beck has got his foot on the jugular of the Marxist Beast, you would expect that most conservatives would be behind him.
So.. you think we should not be hearing this stuff and hearing it makes us mind-numbed robots? Then what does posting daily on FR make us?
Not if the people on the Beck thread are fun, welcoming and vibrant.
Or if the people on the Levin thread are snootie and unwelcoming.
People will forget one thread or another if they don’t feel welcome.
I remember when Glenn interviewed Sarah Palin some time before she was picked to be McCain’s VP. Rush, Beck, Levin and Hannity - love ‘em all.
Eating OUR own...That is what threw me off. I am sorry if I was out of line. It was a substantive reply, if maybe aimed at the wrong person.
It just seems that the “eating of our own” is mainly the party trying to eat Beck. In my eyes, he is doing what he can, fighting the good fight. I think if someone is really worried about the state of the country, they would want THINGS to work out, NOT power for OUR friends.
That’s all they are, political party whores. There’s no difference whatsoever between Hannity/Levin whoring for the GOP and Olbermann whoring for the DNC except ideaology. Rush was falling into that trap for awhile as well during the Bush years, which made his “I quit carrying the water” show the day after the 2006 elections such a great moment for someone like me who listened to Rush religiously during the Clinton years and wondered what happened. I’ll take Beck and Savage any day of the week, even if Savage is talking about his dog.
It means conservatives that don’t back RINOs. Pretty damn simple to me. RAO1125 is correct. The rest of you people that think McCain would have been Obama-lite are mistaken. That guy is a loose cannon. At least with Obama we want be getting the knife stuck in our back...it’s all in the open for all to see.
You are dead wrong and 5 and 7. We probably would have it them by now.
The difference is, Rush revolutionized talk radio. But Beck’s ascension is coming at a time in American history where we stand on the edge of global socialism. I sortof view Rush as like a five star general in the Pentagon who draws up detailed plans... while Beck is the freshly minted General who is leading the charge on the ground and taking no prisoners.
As best I can tell, the argument is that Beck used the same two Cass Sunstein quotes, in the same order, as Mark used in L&T. If I remember my college English courses correctly, I was always taught to use primary sources if they are readily available rather than attributing the secondary sources. Why? To be absolutely certain that the information is accurate AND so that it is easily verifiable for the reader.
It certainly is much more authoritative to state "this info was written by Cass Sunstein himself" rather than Mark Levin says this is what Cass Sunstein said.
