Exactly. As an extreme example, a couple years ago Commentary magazine had an article on Robert Oppenheimer. He was a genius in nuclear physics but a naive idiot in terms cf commonsense reality. He was a communist and a member of every fringe-Left quack group imaginable. It’s incredible that any reasonable person could in any way equate a formal education with ethical and moral values and conduct. I suspect Dean was scraping the bottom of the barrel in Jones’ case and couldn’t come up with anything else!
Conservatives trust people, and can delegate.
Liberals and elitists and communists are insulting with their looking down their nose at everyone.
The young Berkeley girl who asked VJ one of the questions was classic. She pouted about how "all over this country people are set in their ways of doing things and will not see the truth, our truth, how do we get them go give up their concepts". How ARROGANT. How DARE they cling to guns and religion.
The American People can smell BULLSHI(R)T from 100 miles away. They may be fooled a little bit in the beginning, but with their instincts, reasoning and human heart, they know how to ferret out nonsense from truth at the end of the day, after maybe a few false starts. Certainly, last year, they erred with Obama to begin with, but I think are well on their way to correcting that misbehavior and sin, and you can just feel it bubbling up from above, even all the way over here in Minato-ward, Tokyo.
Communists will never understand People. Therefore, People will be their downfall-for as much as they always harp about, well, "The People". Their noses are too deep in their marxist tomes and up their collective a(r)sses, to notice anything else around them.
Good summary, well stated. What gives additional proof to your thesis is that communism proved itself a spent historical force in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. There will always be some ignorant hangers-on to a dead ideology like Van Jones. And it’s certainly a fact that ALL totalitarian ideologies distrust the people and their ability to exercise their individual liberties and God-given freedom. Old Abe expressed it best - “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not ALL of the people all the time.” Regards,
