To: American Constitutionalist

No, actually he wasn’t. Arthur’s father was not naturalized until Arthur was 14. He inherited his father’s British Citizenship just as Obama did. Had people KNOWN that Arthur’s father did not become a Naturalized Citizen until he was 14, Chester would NEVER have been nominated to the VP sopt. The fact that he was is something of a crazy story.... NO ONE thought he would ever run for a position like that. He never showed any inclination to. He took the opportunity when it miraculously landed in his lap at the Republican convention. That right there is something of a story in and of itself.

At any rate, with the wars against Britain still in living memory, Arthur would NOT have been nominated had his parentage and citizenship been known.
