I have thought for a long time that a lot of people on the right have this relationship backwards. The media are not the propaganda arm of the left, as often claimed. It is the other way around: The left as we know and loathe it is the political arm of the media-industrial complex.

In retrospect it is blindingly obvious that the AP is a monopoly which includes all of what calls itself "the press." And that nothing could be more natural than that a press monopoly would promote itself - and, concomitantly, promote politicians which promote journalism's perspective. And since cheap criticism and second guessing of the people who actually take responsibility for getting things done promotes journalism, that is what journalists and their acolytes in the Democratic Party do.

And that is what leftism boils down to.
