536 convictions, with substantial sentences, would be a good start....

I agree with his words in this column, but it really seems ironic to hear Alan Keyes talk about political victory.

Good article....I think so many will miss the point.
Keyes was quietly calling out those “conservatives” who are bashing the birthers. Note how Keyes accurately points out that the leftists lump Birthers and GOP After-Birthers together, anyway

Alan Keyes? and political victory? In the same sentence?

It’s always an encouragement to me to know that there are men and women of discernment out there.

Wasn’t this a favored tactic by Stalin?
To: iowamark
Those who advocate boldly for principle without compromise always go through times when they must stand with the few, or even alone.
Such was Winston Churchill’s fate for decades.
But history and Providence always bring us to the dangerous times when the people realize their acute need for leaders who are servants and statesmen, not mere self-serving politicians.
Alan continues to humbly serve his country in every way that he can. Perhaps someday, maybe even someday soon, Americans will recognize the incredible gift they are squandering in rejecting this good and wise man.
Or maybe not.
But if not, America will be the poorer.

Absolutely. The enemies of the state were called crazy, put in asylums, tortured, drugged, abused, until many of them really were crazy.

"I oppose Obama's totalitarian takeover of the health system for the same reason that I demand an authoritative investigation and decision as to his constitutional eligibility for the presidency: After careful examination of the available evidence, and in light of the constitutional or moral principles we claim to respect, I cannot with integrity do otherwise. In one case a majority applauds my conclusion. In the other it may not. But I can no more abandon the rational conviction of right to curry favor with a majority than I could to gain money, power or any other material gain. I believe that the key to the survival of republican and constitutional self-government lies in the possibility of leadership that has the heart and conscience to battle for right against the tide of opinion, with the faith that ultimately truth, courageously advocated, will move the common sense of the people. The history of our republic bears me out." - Alan Keyes

"Did they not realize the accuracy of the observation found in Shakespeare's classic study of tyrannical usurpation: "Things bad begun make strong themselves by ill"? "
Fasten your seatbelts. Totalitarian at the wheel.

There are a lot of reasons Keyes has not been elected. Very few of them relate to his ideas, politics and reasoning. Lincoln probably couldn't be elected today.

The key to victory in 2010? 1) Put crazy Uncle Alan back in the attic.
2) Take our party back from the RINOs.
3)Nominate Sarah.
To: RobinOfKingston
That’s was very well-put - nailed it perfectly. Too many here sadly pat themselves on the back for trashing Alan. Very few of those have the nads to try to confront his ideas.

1) Put crazy Uncle Alan back in the attic. Thanks for choosing to play poster child for the fact that certain Republicans are little different than Democrats in their Alinskyite tactics.

Oh please...his over-the-top antics, such as chaining himself to a TV station and pushing a baby carriage containing bloodied dolls are a total embarrassment to say the least. He’s a carpet bagging, party jumping, drama queen media whore.
