[[I’m sorry, but that’s one of the most tortured defenses of an erroneous statement I’ve ever read. Like I said, it’s ludicrous to parse it that way.]]
What is ludicrous is tryign to assign somethign to pitman that was obviously false- as I said, only a dolt or someoen completely missing hte context of the paragraph could conclude he was so innept that he thought that current thought on the identical nature of LHRH action between mammals and amphibians, and the test results from years ago on the differences between amphibs, reptiles, mammals etc were the same thing, or that pitman ‘mistakenly’ ‘interpreted’ “similar’ as meaning ‘exact’ in that earlier report. Countyourchange pointed you to several articles showing current htought is that mammals and amphibs LHRH process’ are indentical- pitman made hte statement based on current htought, then pointed out that earlier reports ALSO show reptiles, birds etc- the currently held ‘next of kin’, are MORE seperated LHRH-wise than are mammals and amphibs- Again- it takes a serious misunderstandign to interpret the way you folks are, and the hwole issue again is that amphibs and mammals are idneed more identical than our supposed ‘closer kin’ LHRH-wise- which even that earlier report points out- again- shooting holes in the common descent hypothesis
Just found these series of posts about an article I wrote for ICR about a month ago in a Google search. Wow, I must admit, it freaked me out a bit, but then again this is a hot issue. After reading some of the posts, I decided to sign up and clear the air on on few things. Maybe a bad idea, but I’ll give it a shot. I did in fact get my PhD at Clemson Univ (Genetics, 1996) in the research area of classical quantitative genetics with a heavy dose of molecular genetics in regard to classes taken. I stayed at Clemson to do a Post-Doc in Genomics and was then offered a faculty position in 2002 as a counter-offer to a faculty job offer I had at Virginia Tech. I worked at Clemson teaching (mostly graduate level courses), publishing, and researching in the area of genomics. I ran a general genomics facility from 2002 to 2006 and then began a tighter focus in the new area of environmental genomics in 2007 and started the Clemson Environmental Genomics Laboratory. While I was on faculty at Clemson, my group/lab worked with a wide variety of plants, animals, and microbes as you can tell from the publications that were posted.
I had been a friend of several scientists at ICR for about 5 years and eventually decided to make a change and work in a Christian Research/Ministry organization for the latter part of my career. Also, ICR had just moved to Dallas, restructured their organization and were rebuilding their 2nd generation of scientists and needed people like me to come in. I left Clemson to work at ICR in Dallas in January 2009, so I have only been here about 8 months. I hope that explains things a little more.
I noticed several human-chimp related posts. I wrote an article in an earlier issue of Acts and Facts in regard to this topic and thought I would provide a link to it since it was relevant to the thread. http://www.icr.org/article/human-chimp-similarities-common-ancestry/
A big thanks to GGG for searching the web and finding some pages to clarify my identity.

Wow, what a great honor it is to have you posting on FR! Your replies will be given the utmost respect from me and my ever growing list of creationists. I can’t say the same for most of the evo-atheists (and their fellow traveling Christian compromisers) on this board...many of whom maintain that it is impossible to be a biblical creationist and a scientist at the same time.
At any rate, welcome aboard FR! Hope to see you around these here parts often :o)
All the best—GGG
Welcome Aboard!
You do realize that a PhD from such a red-neck, Bible thumping cauldron of ignorance fails to qualify you to debate such established intellects as "allmendream?" ;o)
I am unimpressed by degrees alone. A degree is only impressive when it is in the field under study and accompanies knowledge and insight into the subject.
In short it is not your lack of applicable degrees which make you such a poor debate partner, but your ignorance and intransigence.
And yes, GRAVITY moves the Earth around the Sun. No amount of gravitation could possibly move the Sun around the Earth while leaving the Earth motionless.
Okey, so the guy co-authored a few Dell comics issues...
How good is he at handicapping B league football? :o)
Damn you love to broadcast your ignorance!
Sorry, little idiot, but gravity provides only the centripetal vector that keeps the Earth from gliding away in a straight course.
That is correct. Earth around the Sun.
Welcome!
Don’t let the FR closet liberals scare you, that’s what they count on...shutting down debate. They’re pretty petrified the NEA types will lose their grip on indoctrinating kids...and every strawman and projection known to man has been created to further their goals.
I think there’s probably less than half a dozen here that actually respond to the articles/research...the over-whelming majority just attack people like you...your education, character, pretty much whatever it takes.
They’re failing though.
Miserably.
I’ve read some of the scientists observations on dissentfromdarwin.org...and the one I point out a good bit is the chemist David Peltzer and his argument that so far the only life people are able to create in a lab are via the application of ... intelligent design ... “tweaking” the experiments and even then they can’t manage to do what they want to do.
http://www.dissentfromdarwin.org/scientists/
So, quite naturally people point out this failure of the Darwinian paradigm. Even young children understand it, and that’s the entire problem.
NEA type liberals simply can not tolerate dissent for obvious reasons.
Anyway, again, welcome and glad you’re here!
pure nonsense!
Like people that say they're Christian and then discount the Bible's veracity, you know, while attacking people that actually accept God at His Word?
Or... let me guess...that doesn't count!?
That's a riot, liberals demanding to lecture normal people about choices...coming from the side that demands children be indoctrinated with the one and only possibility of science devoid of intelligence, purpose, design, etc.
Do you understand that Lord Haw Haw??? :)
Dr. Tomkins,
Thank you for the insightful article and the work that you are doing. I look forward to your works in the future and take heart that is being noticed. I believe it will do a great deal of good for this world.
Psalm 104:5 HE set the foundation of the Earth so that it should not be moved forever.
Is one not a Christian because they don't agree to e-s’s interpretation, or just your interpretation?
“And yes, GRAVITY moves the Earth around the Sun.”
The person that says this shouldn’t call anyone ignorant.
Welcome to Free Republic!
I look forward to your posts. Any friend of GGG is a friend of mine.
Right back at ya, AZ :o)
PS I just checked, Dr. Tomkin’s is among the more popular creation articles/papers posted on FR. Over 3,000 views! Woo-hoo. Keep up the good work, Doc!
